--- Plausible deniability. These stations are run on a provincial (or even municipal) level.
Anyway, China doesn't deny the existence of such stations, but says, they are mere service stations for Chinese citizens abroad.

--- Selber schuld. Den Reisepass sollte man übrigens in China sowieso besser immer dabeihaben, falls man sich mal ausweisen muß. Angeblich reicht auch eine gute Fotokopie, aber habe auch schon von Fällen gehört, die deshalb Ärger bekommen haben.
Außerdem ist es ziemlich selbstsüchtig, dem Lockdown auszuweichen, wie es der Reporter tat. Sollte er nämlich die Verdachtsperson sein & sich tatsächlich angesteckt haben, schickt er durch sein Verhalten u.U. dutzende oder gar hunderte andere in den Lockdown.
