How Institutions Position Themselves In Bitcoin This Week

For Bitcoins, the latest COT as of Tuesday, May 15, 2018, institutions stay net short bitcoins and increased bearish bets by 239 bitcoins to net negative 1,874 bitcoins.

479 longs were closed and 240 shorts were closed as well, Now Longs total 3,152 bitcoins vs shorts total 5,026 bitcoins .

39% long exposure vs 61% short exposure , Longs dropped 2% and shorts added 2% from the previous week

This week Bitcoin started at 9,356 on 5/8, rallied high to 9,450 , came down to 8,208 low on 5/12, closed at 8,474 on 5/15

More longs being closed indicated institutions not expecting price moving higher after it hits 9900s. They also closed some shorts when price at 8200s- 8400s levels

Please note institutions take weeks and months to build a position. Bitcoin future exchange started a few months ago,
there were not enough data to analyze institutions long term view in crypto market.
