# <center>**Explore everyday life in Japan**</center>

### **Undoubtedly, the one thing that I miss the most whenever I leave Japan is this, oshibori, which is closely pronounced as oh-she-bore-dee.**

### **In the summer, Japan is hot and very humid. In the winter it is cold and very damp. There is something about the moisture that makes the weather here feel much more oppressive and bone-chilling then the temperatures suggest. When you enter many restaurants, the first thing the servers will present you with is an oshibori, a small, damp towel that can be used to wipe your hands, your arms, and if you want to look like an old man, your face.**

### **In the summer, these towels are refrigerated and given to you when they are nicely chilled. In the winter, they are kept in a warming unit and given to you steaming hot. Regardless of season, these towels feel great on your hands, arms, and face. They make for a great way to refresh both before and after a meal.**
