**The end of April and the beginning of May in Japan are sprinkled with a number of holidays that are collectively known as *Golden Week*, a name that was apparently dubbed by the  managing director of the Daiei Film Company in 1951 after an unusually high number of moviegoers turned out to see the movie *Jiyu Gakko* during this week.**
