Bozzlife: An oldie but is it a goodie?

Three years ago this idea of digital currency was so new and exciting.  Okay, to be honest, it still is.  We all know very well that back in late 2017/2018 projects were popping up right and left and people were jumping on board of ever single one they could find.

I wrote about Mannabase yesterday [in my post](https://leofinance.io/@bozz/bozzlife-mannabase-reboot).  Today I am going to cover another one of those projects that popped up during this time.

[Initiative Q](https://initiativeq.com/) was founded by Saar Wilf.  According to their website he started his first payments startup in 1997 and later founded a company that was purchased by PayPal.

Initiative Q has an advisory board of industry experts that are supposed to guide the company in the right direction.  We have heard all of this sort of stuff before right?

They even have a roadmap...

I mean, what good startup company wouldn't have a road map right?

Anyway, back in the day I did the obligatory sign up for them and I also did the obligatory referral link think to try and get my friends to sign up and earn some more Qbits (I don't know if that is what they are really called) myself.

I built up a pretty decent bag and then basically forgot about them until the other day when I was scrolling through my bookmarks and I saw the site on the list.

I figured, why not try it out and see if they still even have a site.  I expected to click on the link and get some kind of 404 or "buy this domain" type error.

Imagine my surprise to find out the site still existed.  On top of that, my login still worked.

Even more shocking was the fact that they now have a mobile app!

You can see here, I am either quite the underachiever or I just don't have that many friends/acquaintances, because I left about 252K Qbits hanging.  If their vision comes to fruition of one Qbit equaling one US Dollar, then I am going to be really sad that I didn't work a little harder to find some friends.  

If I remember correctly, this was one of the few programs like this back then that had some pretty strict policies for validating your "friends".  It wasn't as easy as some other ones to create twenty accounts and just refer yourself.

Anyway, if you are heavy into the finance thing, feel free to visit their site and read through the FAQ's and that sort of thing.  I am sure some of you folks on here will be able to poke some holes in their model that aren't apparent to me.  

Quite honestly, I don't really expect Initiative Q to really amount to anything.  I don't know what their end game would be besides collecting a large number of email addresses to sell to marketing companies, but after three years kicking around this place I have become quite the cynic.  

I am impressed that they actually have a mobile app.  After so many years there are far more successful projects that haven't even accomplished that.  Plus, if they do happen to be successful then hey, I've got about 95,000 reason to be happy about that.

Honestly, I joined it at the time but now with a little more knowledge I think Q will never come to nothing and it ended up being just a project with the intention of having an email database that can sell to advertising companies and things like that but I could be wrong.

There were some very good ideas coming to the fore, it became like the wild west some stood many fell. Did like the Mannabase concept and also read your previous article, 

Never got involved in this particular one, checked and found an older token that has moved and started up once again.

Taking time to go through old tokens see if some have stood the test of time and laws being imposed, interesting thanks @bozz.

Ha! Totally forgot about this one, I was spamming referrals left right and centre then completely forgot about it. Think I have about 120k but have absolutely no idea if that means anything! If they do get to $1 per pop then maybe the shilling was a good move 😁

Yeah, sounds like a good plan.  Their timeline is quite long and who knows what other competitive products will come out in the future.  With Venmo already having such a huge market share I am not sure the benefits of IQ (if there are any) help push them past people's comfort level with what they are already using.

I haven't looked at Mannabase in ages, I think it's still going.. (its still listed on my phone). The amount of tokens every week I noticed (last time I looked) was diminishing but we can expect that.

You have to be careful because there is also a token called MANA that is used in the ETH open world game Dcentraland.  I am not sure the one from mannabase was ever listed, but I could be wrong.  I am guessing @steevc might have a better idea.

Initiative Q looks a little familiar, but I can't remember if I used it at all. There have been so many projects over the years. I foresee a bit of a cull that will sort out which really have value, but investors seem willing to prop up hundreds for now.
