*It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance.  This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week.  I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the Leo community.*

It would seem the roller coaster ride is far from over.  I am guessing most of us realized that though. There honestly isn't much to talk about that isn't different from the past couple of months.  At least as far as the overall markets go.  Things are still looking bad.  The rates keep getting increased, rinse and repeat.  No technical analysis there, just chronic despondence and mild depression.  It will pass...

### Splinterlands

Once again Splinterlands is probably the biggest news from this week.  Besides the major presale they had last week for Rift Watcher Gems, they dropped two presales on us this week.  The first came in the form of the Tower Defense game on Tuesday.  

This one didn't sell out nearly as quickly as the Rift Watcher packs.  That's actually a little surprising given the fact there were fewer packs available for the Tower Defense game.  I've heard from more than one person that their hesitancy to purchase mostly stemmed from the fact that there is so little information about the TD game so far.  

At least with the Rift Watcher packs you know they can be used in a game that pretty much all of us are quite familiar with now.  I can understand how this new tangent for the Splinterlands team could be concerning to some people and they might not be willing to ape into it.  Personally, I picked up 20 packs.  Less than I was planning, but enough that I feel comfortable with my investment.

Then yesterday, we saw another "presale" in the form of the new Runi card.  It was actually more of a whitelist event.  I think the fact that it happened over on ETH probably kept a lot us common folk from participating.  Many of us just don't have that much ETH to cover the costs and gas fees.  Other people just don't like ETH and I can totally appreciate that.  

Had I played things differently during the last Bull cycle, I might have been in a better position to participate, but as of right now, I just couldn't do it.  It would have meant removing some liquidity which means taking an impermanent loss and giving up future passive income down the road.  Not something I was prepared to do right now.

### Grayscale

Despite the massive flow of FUD that seems to be dominating every corner of the planet right now, Grayscale is buying the dip and taking advantage of these prices.  I saw earlier this week that they bought another chunk of BTC bringing their total holdings to 130,000 BTC.  Even as I watch BTC fall below $19,000 yet again this morning, there is still a lot to be excited about!

### Crypto.com

Following in the footsteps of Coinbase, Crypto.com has announced this week that they are going to start allowing the purchase of crypto inside their app using Google Pay.  I think this is just another example of us taking a small step towards mass adoption. I'm not sure how many people are actually using Google Pay, but I personally think that and Venmo might be two of the most amazing inventions finance has seen in the past 10 years (besides crypto of course).

I'm not sure how much I will use it because I already have most of my buys setup, but I think new users might find this an easier way to start stacking.

### R-Planet

[R-Planet](https://rplanet.io) launched the alpha version of their mobile game yesterday.  It can be downloaded from the Google Play or Apple Store, but to be able to access right now you needed to be a winner of the the lottery tickets they gave out.  I was lucky enough to get one of the tickets. I know a couple of other people here on Hive that were able to get their hands on one as well.

I have zero doubt you will soon see reviews of the game coming across your feed.  One of them might even be from me.  Who said that only one person can post about something right?  I am still playing with the game, but so far it feels really similar to some of the other mobile games I have played in the past.  The one that stands out to me was called something like "Vikings: War of Clans".  I played that with some friends of mine for quite a while back in the day.

The city building aspect of this game feels really similar to that.  I think time will tell if people are actually interested in another kind of game like that.  

I appreciate the fact that you can import your land NFTs into the game and use those to generate more resources for yourself.  That is actually quite cool.  Ultimately, only time will tell if this is going to be the next big thing on the WAX blockchain.  

The R-Planet team has had some major setback and missteps over the past couple of years, so having something that can maybe "right the ship", wouldn't be a bad thing.  I hope it ends up doing really well for them (and me of course!).
