Dad Tip of The Day: Be Prepared

Dad Tip of the Day: Keeping your kids safe is one of the most important things a dad can do – be prepared by knowing CRP, the Heimlich, and having first aid kit around.




As parents, one of our greatest fears is our kids getting hurt badly.  While life is such that you cannot prevent all accidents and injuries, helping your kids stay safe in general and being prepared is something we can always continue to work on.

Being prepared can mean a lot of things – having first aid kits close by, knowing CPR, knowing the Heimlich maneuver, knowing self defense, teaching them water safety, etc.   The more you know and are prepared, the better equipped you will be in the event of an emergency.

The other day, I realized my knowledge of the Heimlich maneuver was not as good as it should be, so I refreshed by watching a youtube video.  A few minutes invested, but something that could save my kid’s (or anyone around me’s) lives if it came down to it.  I am now more confident in it and know it better from a technical standpoint.

Yes parents have the responsibility to make their children safe and secure and have to be ready when such emergencies happen as extra skill and knowledge may mean life and death to our lovedones @brian.rrr
