The rocks are so cute. With this rock you can make showpice in your drawing room. I think garden ornaments is a good idea also.

Those are fine rocks and stones collection @brian.rrr and maybe if you would process them they will become a good ornament or jewelry perhaps. Since that site you went to collect from is a gold panner's site you might also come upon a gold nugget too who knows.

Little by little you will be improving, it is good that you have a new hobby. Each stone has its particular charm and mystery.

Did you spot any scorpions with your black-light? Those work pretty well for that.

The rocks are looking so beautiful. Specially the green stone and rock with copper look amazing. Yes, you can use the beautiful rocks as garden ornaments, that's a good idea.

We used to fish the Yuba when we lived in CA. There were lots of gold prospectors up there. They were all fun to talk to and liked to show off their gear and the gold they found.

Hey Brian, saw you joined us over at So Cal Steemit. I am a serious rockhound, @rt395. I live in So.Cal and Tokyo. When I am here in So. Cal I do a lot of prospecting all over the Southewest. Either black light will do, long/short, but short UV is dangerous so you have to take precautions.

Unfortunately you have a bunch of leaverite. Leave her right there. The good news is we are blessed in So.Cal with some of the best gem & mineral hunting spots in the US. Cascade Canyon, on the way up to Mt. Baldy, has lots of Corundum, Ruby & Sapphire, which fluoresce. You don't need a black light to find it though!

Down past Temecula is the famous Pala mining district full of tourmaline, beryl and kunzite. Up in Wrightwood there is actinolite, and the desert is loaded with agates, opals and more. 

Also, there is a huge event in Trona in October called Gem-O-Rama. It's a great place for kids to dig in the mud to pull out hanksite and pink halite.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi. If you are ever interested in going out hunting again let me know.

That's too bad you didn't find any. Sometimes you luck out on your first try, and sometimes you have to keep putting effort into something before you break through. I hope you're able to figure out what adjustments need to be made so you can find some. Good luck!
