(Explained) </strong></p> <h2><strong>1) Right now no new users can get on so it is like being in a gated community which is almost like fishing in a barrel. Muahhahhahahahhah</strong></h2> <p><img src="http://brianphobos.com/img/gated-steemit.jpg"/></p> <p>It appears there are only about 3500 or so users with active accounts on this platform right now which is super low. Can you imagine how many people are wanting to get on this platform? There is starting to be articles about it all around the world because of the amount of money people have been making for blogging and posting. No other media platform matches these kinds of payouts right now! </p> <p>When new users try to sign up right now they are presented with this screen to submit an e-mail. If you have an active account you are lucky! </p> <p><img src="http://brianphobos.com/img/signup-closed.jpg"/></p> <h2>2) The payouts are so high because essentially the difficulty is low. (The amount of users is low compared to the price of Steem) Let me explain. </h2> <p><strong>So you may still be asking yourself how this platform is paying out so much. Some people are saying this is ridiculous and there is no way that people are making $10,000+ for a makeup post that got a couple hundred views. </strong></p> <p>You might have even told yourself, <strong>"That post isn't worth that much."</strong> But the main reasons you are saying that is because you probably realize how hard it is to make money on other platforms through advertising or affiliate marketing. </p> <p>I have been making money online since 2008 and it isn't easy to earn much even if you get millions of views. </p> <p>Well I'm going to break this down from a slightly technical stand point and then also in laymen's terms. So if you have been involved in mining we see that the most profitable times to mine are when the prices of currencies spike upward really fast. Suddenly for the people who have mining equipment going at that time are already positioned to exploit a situation where the difficulty on the network is relatively low comparative to the price of the coins. These spreads don't usually last longer than about 6 months or so because the markets balance themselves out. People get excited about mining and jump into that but the prices of the coins are usually likely to correct themselves making it so the mining might not be profitable anymore. </p> <p><strong>HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO </strong><a href="/trending/steem"><strong>#STEEM</strong></a><strong> AND </strong><a href="/trending/steemit"><strong>#STEEMIT</strong></a><strong>? </strong></p> <p>Think of the <strong>"mining algorithm"</strong> being a proof of social interaction. Right now the "difficulty" is VERY low because there aren't that many people on this platform comparative to how high the price of <a href="/trending/steem">#Steem</a> has spiked. So it was like mining <a href="/trending/litecoin">#Litecoin</a> or <a href="/trending/doge">#Doge</a> in late 2013 or early 2014. There was a worldwide shortage of GPUs because the profitability was so ridiculous everyone was snagging them up. The prices on those coins eventually came back to Earth and re-balanced themselves at the same time the difficulty increased because so many miners were joining the network. </p> <p>*Note* (I do understand there is a proof of work element every 20 blocks but we will get into that later.) </p> <p><strong>LET ME EXPLAIN IN LAYMEN'S TERMS</strong></p> <p>Imagine having a job where you had a <strong>"cool boss"</strong> who didn't make you do hardly anything all day but you still got paid really well for it. You knew the entire time that you had it made. </p> <p><strong>But then one day your worst nightmare was realized. Your boss got promoted and now your new boss is a DICK!</strong></p> <p><img src="https://img0.steemit.com/0x0/http://brianphobos.com/bill.jpg" width="300" height="250"/></p> <p><strong>Now your wishing you could go back to your old boss. We are all in a very rare situation right now that we know about this platform and are able to take advantage of this rare opportunity. </strong></p> <h2><strong>The market will likely re-balance itself overtime but for now this might be the "easiest" job you can ever imagine and none of us should throw this opportunity away! </strong></h2> <h1><strong>3) Market imbalances that are harder to take advantage of outside of the Steemit internal system! </strong></h1> <p>So the other day when the Poloniex market opened up for #Steem and #Steem dollars I was actually blown away because people were paying $1.25 - $1.35 for Steem Dollars when it as supposed to be pegged to the US Dollar. </p> <p>Here are my trades and the proof! </p> <p><img src="http://brianphobos.com/steemdollars.jpg"/></p> <p>So I converted about $209 to $259. I wasn't complaining! I thought SWEET! I didn't understand why this was taking place at the time. So you have that situation going on but also if you are wanting to convert your Steem Dollars to Steem and then #powerup to Steem Power you can really do well on the internal market right now. </p> <p>Imagine Paying $3 for something that is worth over $4! Yeah it is happening right now. I see what you are saying but in my opinion if this is gated for a few days while some bugs are ironed out I don't feel like it is a huge deal. We are able to get our payouts and power up and then when the flood gates open we will be able to share the wealthy but upvoting the new set of users!
