Thats an interesting video, I appreciate hearing your perspective.  I interpret the situation with the federal reserve much differently though. When you look at the bonds that they have purchased they don't seem all that risky to me. Microsoft, Apple, Exonn, AT&T, Walmart, Pfizer are all big institutional corporations. I'm sure there are some low grade companies in the list of purchases but many of the companies seem like very sound investments. They are mostly buying companies that deal in consumer goods (33% + of their portfolio) which would in theory stimulate the economy, but their portfolio also consists of energy companies, utilities and insurance (10% +). In a way the situation could be interpreted as the Federal reserve is litterally buying up corporate America. Thats becomes all the more scary when you factor in the municiple bonds. My understanding (which may be inaccurate) is that owning municiple debt essentially gives the Fed control over the municipalities major infrastructure projects, their funding for public transit and public housing among other things. To me it sounds like the Fed is gaining more and more control by literally buying the power of the country, all under the guise of helping to stimulate the economy. Thats just my interpretation of the situation we obviously see it a little differently and I could be completely wrong.
