Lucia despertó un día y de repente se observó al espejo y vio la singular forma de una silueta de mujer, con pequeños senos que parecían emerger muy tímidamente de su pecho, una cintura estrecha acompañada de unas bien proporcionadas caderas y piernas, se dijo -"Ya soy una mujer"-, todo esto acompañado de una gran sonrisa.


Se sabia hermosa, pero eso no le quitaba sus grandes anhelos que eran llegar a ser una doctora en medicina y conocer al hombre de sus sueños, por lo pronto, iba ya encaminada a ser una gran profesional. Tenia varios pretendientes, pero a todos les veía un defecto, ninguno cubría sus expectativas de ese amor, tierno caballeresco, que soñaba y que le hiciera sentir mariposas revoloteando en su vientre.



El tiempo pasaba, sin prisa pero sin pausas, hasta que un día conoció a un nuevo compañero de facultad. Al principio solo fue el inicio de una divertida amistad, eran muy afines en muchas cosas, fieles como perros con sus respectivas familias y a sus carreras. Al paso del tiempo, se hicieron novios formales a ninguna de las familias les extraño.

Empezaron las visitas reglamentarias a la casa de ella, muy puntualmente  todas las noches de 9 pm a 11pm. Ella siempre se arreglaba  con mucho esmero y entusiasmo contenta como un colibrí. El al principio se notaba muy entusiasmado con ella y sus visitas, así fueron pasando los años.



El flamante caballero no se decidía y Lucia ocupada en terminar de graduarse, en la preparación de su tesis y pensando que el estaba en lo mismo, no le dio importancia a que cada vez, tenia que retirarse mas temprano, por que tenia tareas pendientes o tenia que estudiar. Eso le decía el y ella le  creía, confiada enamorada.


Lucia Pensaba, que ya pronto se graduarían y que seguramente en ese momento  el le haría la ansiada pregunta -¿Quieres ser mi esposa?- y ella  radiante como una lombriz, diría -¡Si, acepto- por que ella sabia que su reloj biológico ya estaba casi a termino, su juventud se había ido rápidamente, solo le faltaba poco para que su mayor sueño se diera, casarse.



Se graduaron y el siguió en lo mismo, en sus visitas entrecortadas y distanciadas, hasta que un día, el se desapareció, sin explicaciones, sin consideraciones, solo no se presento mas. Pronto se supo, que el se había fugado y casado con otra mucho mas joven que ella. Lucia sintió como si le clavaran un afilado cuchillo, partiéndola en dos, se volvió una sombra desde ese momento.



Se vio esta vez al espejo y solo vio a una mujer madura, pero se sentía como si tuviera  100 años, la luz de sus ojos huyó y quedó solo un pozo sin fondo en ellos, la aridez del desierto sembró su alma al ver como se secaba su vida, pobre Lucia vivió en un mar de ilusiones que solo ella entendía.

They began regular visits to her house, very punctually every night from 9pm to 11pm. She always dressed up with great care and enthusiasm, happy as a hummingbird. At the beginning he was very enthusiastic about her and her visits, and so the years went by.



Lucia was busy in finishing her graduation, preparing her thesis and thinking that he was in the same thing, she did not give importance to the fact that she had to leave earlier and earlier, because she had pending tasks or had to study. That's what he told her and she believed him, trusting and in love.


Lucia thought that soon they would graduate and that surely at that moment he would ask her the long awaited question -Would you be my wife?- and she, radiant as an earthworm, would say -Yes, I accept- because she knew that her biological clock was almost over, her youth had gone quickly, she only needed a little time for her biggest dream to come true, to get married.



They graduated and he continued in the same way, in his intermittent and distant visits, until one day, he disappeared, without explanation, without consideration, he just didn't show up anymore. Soon it was known that he had eloped and married someone much younger than her. Lucia felt as if a sharp knife had been thrust into her, splitting her in two, she became a shadow from that moment on.



This time she saw herself in the mirror and only saw a mature woman, but she felt as if she was 100 years old, the light in her eyes fled and there was only a bottomless pit in them, the aridity of the desert sowed her soul as she saw how her life dried up, poor Lucia lived in a sea of illusions that only she understood.
