When we talk about parents, various anecdotes come to our minds that make us remember them with affection and even fun, if they are no longer with us and if we are fortunate enough to have them alive, to laugh again at that story that remained for the family history. When I was a little girl I would have been about 7 or 8 years old, I was just arrived from the town where I was with my grandmother until that age; this was a cattle town where all the land was flat, there were no mountains or hills, I describe this because of what would happen in the story that I am going to tell you....


When I arrived at my new house with my parents, it had behind it, a hill or small mountain, where my father and some neighbors planted fruit trees. Between that hill and the house there was a small yard where I used to play with my new friends whenever I could; in those days it had rained a lot, then one morning I was playing as usual with one of my friends as usual and then my father arrived, he looked out and told us: "do not play today in the yard, better play inside", because it had rained a lot, I remember that we said: "let's go" and we did that we were going behind...

But as children, we entertained ourselves playing a little more, when suddenly, in the blink of an eye, an avalanche of earth fell, which covered almost half of our small bodies, sticking us to the wall of the house, scared we started to scream for help, immediately my mother and my father visibly scared, with shovels in hands, pulled us and took us out of that amount of wet earth; after the respective scolding and already calmer we started to look at each other carefully....

My friend and I were full of dirt up to our eyelashes, we looked like zombies that had come out of it, ha, ha, ha, ha, my mother and my father were also all dirty, then we began to laugh at our faces and our terrible aspects, because one in urgent situations sometimes acts very funny, we were paralyzed stuck to the wall as if time had stopped, my parents screamed like crazy. It was a big scare for all of us, something worse could have happened, but thanks to God and that in the middle of everything, making my father believe that we were about to enter the house, we were close to the door and that allowed us to be against the wall, which prevented us from greater evils...


Immediately after this scare, my father and the neighbors began to shovel that earth until they managed to get it quite far from the house, it was hard work, but necessary. From that day on, I learned not to act crazy about what my father told me to do, because he had his reasons for everything he said to me: "don't go there or leave it like that or be careful with this or that", always came to my mind that "downpour of earth" that came to us out of nowhere, for not obeying at the moment, I think he himself was surprised of his predictive power he, he, he, he, he, I do not think he imagined the magnitude of what was going to happen, that's why after that his work so hard to clear the whole area, foreseeing a greater danger. ..

Cuando hablamos de padres, vienen a nuestras mentes diversas anécdotas que nos hacen recordarles con cariño y hasta diversión, si ya no están con nosotros y si tenemos la fortuna de tenerles en vida, de volvernos a reír de aquel cuento que quedó para la historia familiar. Cuando era una niña tendría unos 7 u 8 años, estaba recién llegada del pueblo donde estuve con mi abuela hasta esa edad; este era un pueblo ganadero donde todo el terreno era llano, no había montañas o cerros, esto lo describo por lo que pasaría en la historia que les voy a narrar...


Al llegar a mi nueva casa con mis padres, esta tenía detrás de ella, un cerro o pequeña montaña, donde mi padre y algunos vecinos sembraban árboles frutales. Entre ese cerro y la casa había un pequeño  patio donde yo acostumbraba a jugar con mis nuevas amiguitas cada vez que podía; por esos días había llovido muchísimo, entonces una mañana me encontraba jugando como de costumbre con una de mis amigas como acostumbraba y en esas llegó mi padre, se asomó y nos dijo: "no jueguen hoy en el patio, mejor jueguen adentro", pues había llovido bastante, recuerdo que le dijimos: "ya vamos" e hicimos que íbamos detrás..

Pero como niñas, nos entretuvimos jugando un poco más, cuando de repente, en un parpadear de ojos, cayó un alud de tierra, que nos cubrió casi que hasta la mitad de nuestros pequeños cuerpos, pegándonos a la pared de la casa, asustadas empezamos a gritar para que nos auxiliaran, inmediatamente mi madre y mi padre visiblemente asustados, con palas en manos, nos jalaron y sacaron de aquel monto de tierra húmeda; luego del respectivo regaño y ya más en calma empezamos a vernos detenidamente...

Mi amiga y yo estábamos llenas de tierra hasta las pestañas, parecíamos  unos zombis que habían salido de ella, ja, ja, ja, mi madre y mi padre también estaban todos sucios, entonces empezamos a reírnos de nuestras caras y de nuestros terribles aspectos, pues uno en situaciones apremiantes a veces actúa muy chistoso, nosotras nos quedamos paralizadas pegadas a la pared como si el tiempo se hubiese detenido, mis padres gritaban como locos. Fue un gran susto para todos, pudo haber pasado algo peor, pero gracias a Dios y que en medio de todo, haciéndole creer a mi padre que ya íbamos a entrar a la casa, estábamos cerca de la puerta y eso nos permitió quedar contra la pared, cuestión que nos evitó males mayores…


Inmediatamente, después de este susto, mi padre y los vecinos se pusieron a palear aquella tierra hasta que lograron que estuviera bastante retirada de la casa, fue un trabajo arduo, pero necesario. Desde ese día aprendí a no hacerme la loca con lo que me mandara a hacer mi padre, pues sus razones tenía en cada cosa en que me decía: "no vaya para allá o deje eso así o cuidado con esto o aquello", siempre llegaba a mi mente aquel "chaparrón de tierra" que nos llegó de la nada, por no obedecer al momento, yo creo que el mismo se sorprendió de su poder de predicción je, je, je, no creo que se imaginó la magnitud de lo que iba a acontecer, por eso luego de eso su trabajo tan arduo para despejar toda el área, previendo un peligro mayor...
