Cuando era niña, me encantaban los juegos de varones, como jugar a la carrucha, al baseball, volar  papagayos;  así como este otros juegos, que jugaba a escondidas, pues mi padre no le gustaba que su niña, anduviera jugando juegos de varones ja, ja, ja; pero también me encantaban las muñecas, peinarlas, cambiarlas  de ropa y jugar  con ellas, era una niña muy versátil. Mis padres me compraban muñecas bellas, que estaban de moda, las que hablaban o cantaban, ya en esos tiempos estaban, por allá en los 80 más o menos, pero había una que siempre pedía y no me llegaba y era una Barbie.


Año tras año la pedía y nunca  llegaba, siempre me venían alguna otra muñeca u otros juguetes, pero mi ansiada Barbie no llego. Para  cuando ya descubrí quienes eran el niño Jesús, ya tenía claro el porqué no me llego. En ese tiempo comprar una Barbie era un juguete bastante costoso y mis padres no tenían para ello, aparte de que ya había nacido mi hermano, entonces la cosa estaba más apretada económicamente, pero mi deseo de tener mi añorada Barbie permanecía en mí. La historia, que viene a continuación, se dio a causa de ese deseo...

En unas vacaciones que tuve en el pueblo de mi abuela para un diciembre, acompañe a una amiga a cuidar un bebé en una antigua casa, donde los dueños casi nunca estaban, la casa era relativamente nueva por la calle, era una hermosa quinta. Mi amiga tendría unos 15 o 16 años, ese era  su primer trabajo, esa tarde- noche me pidió que la acompañara un rato  y pedí permiso a mi abuela,  como era por la misma calle, ella accedió;  entonces me fui con mi amiga un rato. La casa tenía varias habitaciones, era bastante grande; pero había una habitación cerrada hasta con candado,  me llamó la atención y le pregunté a mi amiga que había allí y el porqué de tenerla cerrada, su respuesta fue "solo hay juguetes"... de una vez me dio curiosidad y le dije que si tenía las llaves, me  dijo que si, entonces le pedí abrirla para ver los juguetes...

Ella dudó un instante, pues los dueños de casa le habían advertido no abrirla; pero como estábamos solas con el bebé y ellos estaban de viaje, ella accedió y abrió aquella habitación, al momento de hacerlo como cosa de películas, lloró el bebé y ella se fue a atenderlo mientras,  yo quede enfrente de aquella puerta abierta ... ¿Adivinen que juguetes había en el lugar?, pues muchas Barbies con todos sus accesorios, sus carros, las casas, los bebes, hasta Kent estaba, el paraíso estaba enfrente de mis ojos, para mis deseos inconclusos, ja, ja, ja a pesar de que ya  estaba grande aún jugaba con muñecas y al ver esta variedad de Barbies, por primera vez en mi vida, tuve un mal pensamiento, quise tomar una y llevármela, había tantas, que seguramente no lo notarían, eso llegue a pensar, estaba embelesada viéndolas...

Justo cuando iba a tomar una que tenía  enfrente; llegue a tomarla y cuando la tenía en mis manos, pude oír claramente como si desde el techo de madera de la  habitación, que estaba bastante alto, retumbo una risotada bastante siniestra. De una vez solté aquella muñeca, mientras corría a buscar a mi amiga, aquellas carcajadas siniestras me retumbaban en todo ese espacio. En cuanto conseguí a mi amiga le  conté lo que  me había pasado, ella se armó de valor y junto al bebe más atrás de ella yo, fuimos a verificar de que no hubiera nadie en la casa o a los alrededores, no  conseguimos ni un alma, estábamos solas. En ese momento supe que lo que haya  sido, no era nada bueno y el porqué tenían esa habitación perennemente cerrada. Desde esa  vez tuve cuidado con mis deseos y de no hacer lo que nunca  me habían enseñado en casa...

When I was a little girl, I loved boys' games, like playing tag, baseball, flying parrots; as well as these other games, which I played on the sly, because my father did not like his little girl playing boys' games ha, ha, ha; but I also loved dolls, combing them, changing their clothes and playing with them, I was a very versatile girl. My parents used to buy me beautiful dolls, the ones that were in fashion, the ones that talked or sang, they were already in those days, back in the 80's or so, but there was one that I always asked for and I never got it and it was a Barbie.


Year after year I asked for it and it never arrived, I always got some other doll or other toys, but my longed Barbie never arrived. By the time I found out who the baby Jesus was, it was clear to me why I didn't get it. At that time buying a Barbie was a very expensive toy and my parents didn't have enough money for it, besides my brother had already been born, so things were a bit tighter financially, but my desire to have my longed Barbie remained in me. The story, which follows, came about because of this desire...


On a vacation I had in my grandmother's town for a December, I accompanied a friend to take care of a baby in an old house, where the owners were almost never there, the house was relatively new from the street, it was a beautiful villa. My friend would be about 15 or 16 years old, that was her first job, that afternoon-evening she asked me to accompany her for a while and I asked permission to my grandmother, as it was on the same street, she agreed; then I went with my friend for a while. The house had several rooms, it was quite big; but there was a room closed even with a padlock, it caught my attention and I asked my friend what was there and why it was closed, her answer was "there are only toys"... I was curious and I asked her if she had the keys, she said yes, so I asked her to open it to see the toys....

She hesitated for a moment, because the owners of the house had warned her not to open it; but as we were alone with the baby and they were on a trip, she agreed and opened that room, at the moment of doing it like something out of a movie, the baby cried and she went to take care of him while I was in front of that open door.... Guess what toys were in the place, there were many Barbies with all their accessories, their cars, the houses, the babies, even Kent was there, paradise was in front of my eyes, for my unfinished desires, ha, ha, ha, ha even though I was a grown up I still played with dolls and when I saw this variety of Barbies, for the first time in my life, I had a bad thought, I wanted to take one and take it with me, there were so many, that surely they would not notice it, I thought so, I was enraptured watching them....

Just when I was about to take one that was in front of me, I reached to take it and when I had it in my hands, I could hear clearly as if from the wooden ceiling of the room, which was quite high, a rather sinister laughter rumbled. All at once I let go of that doll, while I ran to look for my friend, those sinister laughter echoed in all that space. As soon as I got my friend I told her what had happened to me, she got up the courage and together with the baby and me, we went to verify that there was no one in the house or in the surroundings, we did not find a single soul, we were alone. At that moment I knew that whatever it was, it was not good and why they had that room permanently locked. From that time on I was careful with my desires and not to do what I had never been taught at home....
