En esta ocasión les voy a hablar, de una autora que es una de mis favoritas, por su estilo desenfadado, sencillo al escribir, su genero generalmente el romántico- tipo novela, apuntando a una lectura para adultos, no es otra que la reconocida escritora estadounidense conocida como [Danielle Steel](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danielle_Steel) cuyo verdadero, nombre es Danielle Fernandes Dominique Schülein-Stee. Muchas de sus novelas han sido adaptadas a la televisión. 



Pero el libro que hoy les traigo a colación, es uno muy especial, ya que fue dedicado a uno de sus hijos en detalle, se podría decir que es autobiográfico, porque en el habla no solo de su hijo, si no de su vida personal, sus otros hijos, esposos y su vida familiar en general. En el relata sus vivencias, al lado de su adorado hijo Nicholas Traina, conocido como Nick y su posterior muerte.


Danielle tuvo 7 hijos de sus diferentes esposos, siendo Nick el segundo en nacer. En este libro ella describe, lo que fue vivir con su hijo Nick desde su nacimiento, ya que el de sus 7 hijos fue el que tuvo, una vida marcada por muchos acontecimientos, desde su concepción, su nacimiento que fue el parto mas difícil para ella, su ocurrente infancia por decirlo de alguna manera, ya que desde niño fue un niño con una personalidad muy fuerte, muy inteligente, pero a la vez con ciertos indicios que hablaban de una enfermedad mental.



Que poco a poco, le fueron generando varios tropiezos en su vida personal y su vida familiar, extendiéndose en todo su entorno, escuela, amigos, profesores. En el, ella nos expresa la lucha que ella libró tratando  de ayudar a su amado hijo. Las señales que ella fue notando, desde sus primeros años y que en un comienzo, todos los cercanos a ella les desmentían, diciéndole que su hijo era un niño normal, pero que con el paso de los años, estas señales se convirtieron en unos detonantes mortales para su hijo.



Con los años de la adolescencia, por fin le diagnostican a su hijo con el [trastorno bipolar](https://medlineplus.gov/spanish/bipolardisorder.html#:~:text=El%20trastorno%20bipolar%20es%20una,%2C%20triste%2C%20indiferente%20o%20desesperanzado.) de allí en adelante, ya ella tiene muchas respuestas a esos indicios y señales que su hijo siempre le dio a lo largo de su corta vida, pero igualmente fue muy difícil de sobrellevar para ella, la familia y el propio Nick, ya que sus estados ánimos pasaban de un extremo al otro y era muy extenuante emocionalmente para todos.

Hasta que de un momento a otro a pesar de toda la ayuda, medicación, familia, amigos que estuvieron al lado de Nick, no pudieron evitar el fatal desenlace, que este chico llevo a cabo a sus 19 años. Este libro es para sentarse a leerlo, con detenimiento y es que automáticamente te vas sumergiendo en su lectura, hace que te pongas en los zapatos de todos los protagonistas, es un libro un tanto desgarrador, porque en el está, plasmado el sentimiento de una madre, ante una desgracia tan fuerte.



Como es, el de perder a un hijo y de la manera en que a ella le toco vivirlo y enfrentarlo, mas siendo una figura pública, donde cada quien tuvo una opinión diferente, por su tragedia personal. En este libro ella explica lo que fue sentirse en su piel, por esos dias, su inmenso amor por sus hijos y en especial por Nick, porque ella sabia que el necesitaba mas de ella por su condición tan inestable y como madre trato de hacerlo lo mejor que pudo.


Al escribir este libro Danielle, en el vació todos sus pensamientos, experiencias, sentimientos, en primer orden para hacer catarsis y curarse un poco así misma, en honor a su hijo, que fue brillante y en honor a todos aquellos, que compartieron todas sus vivencias y también con la esperanza de ayudar a otras personas a que reconozcan, los síntomas de esta terrible enfermedad mental, y que puedan actuar mas a tiempo, previniendo muchos malos momentos, que ella en su momento, no las reconoció, al no tener la ayuda que tanto busco en su momento.



Muchos la trataron de desviar, de sus percepciones como madre,  en que algo no estaba bien, pero al final sus sensaciones como madre no se equivocaron. Este libro es el testimonio de una madre, que vivió en carne propia lo que es vivir con un hijo bipolar y como convirtió su horrible experiencia en algo positivo para ella misma y para quienes de alguna manera han pasado por algo similar, como la perdida de un hijo. Es un libro catártico, sentimental, con muchas anécdotas divertidas y tristes, desde un principio envolvente. Se los recomiendo enormemente. This time I am going to talk to you about an author who is one of my favorites, because of her casual, simple style of writing, her genre is generally romantic-novel type, aiming to a reading for adults, is none other than the renowned American writer known as [Danielle Steel](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danielle_Steel) whose real name is Danielle Fernandes Dominique Schülein-Stee. Many of her novels have been adapted to television. 



But the book that I bring to you today is a very special one, since it was dedicated to one of her sons in detail, one could say that it is autobiographical, because in it she speaks not only of her son, but also of her personal life, her other children, husbands and her family life in general. In it she recounts her experiences with her beloved son Nicholas Traina, known as Nick, and his subsequent death.


Danielle had 7 children by her different husbands, Nick being the second to be born. In this book she describes what it was like to live with her son Nick since his birth, since the one of her 7 children was the one she had, a life marked by many events, from his conception, his birth, which was the most difficult birth for her, his witty childhood, so to speak, since he was a child with a very strong personality, very intelligent, but at the same time with certain signs that spoke of a mental illness.



That little by little, were generating several stumbling blocks in his personal life and his family life, extending throughout his environment, school, friends, teachers. In it, she expresses the struggle she waged trying to help her beloved son. The signs that she noticed from his early years and that in the beginning, everyone close to her denied them, telling her that her son was a normal child, but as the years went by, these signs became deadly triggers for her son.


In the teenage years, her son was finally diagnosed with [bipolar disorder](https://medlineplus.gov/spanish/bipolardisorder.html#:~:text=The%20bipolar%20disorder%20is%20one,%2C%20sad%2C%20indifferent%20or%20hopeless. ) From then on, she has many answers to those signs and signals that her son always gave her throughout his short life, but it was still very difficult to cope with for her, the family and Nick himself, as his moods went from one extreme to the other and it was very emotionally exhausting for everyone.




Until one moment to the next, despite all the help, medication, family, friends who were by Nick's side, they could not prevent the fatal outcome, which this boy carried out at the age of 19. This book is a book to sit down and read carefully, and you are automatically immersed in its reading, it makes you put yourself in the shoes of all the protagonists, it is a somewhat heartbreaking book, because in it is embodied the feeling of a mother, before such a strong misfortune.



As it is, to lose a child and the way she had to live it and face it, but being a public figure, where everyone had a different opinion, because of her personal tragedy. In this book she explains what it was like to feel in her skin, for those days, her immense love for her children and especially for Nick, because she knew that he needed more of her because of his unstable condition and as a mother she tried to do the best she could.


In writing this book Danielle emptied all her thoughts, experiences, feelings, in the first order to make catharsis and heal herself a little, in honor of her son, who was brilliant and in honor of all those who shared all her experiences and also with the hope of helping other people to recognize the symptoms of this terrible mental illness, and that they can act more in time, preventing many bad moments, that she did not recognize at the time, not having the help she sought so much at the time.



Many tried to divert her from her perceptions as a mother, that something was not right, but in the end her feelings as a mother were not wrong. This book is the testimony of a mother, who experienced firsthand what it is like to live with a bipolar child and how she turned her horrible experience into something positive for herself and for those who in some way have gone through something similar, such as the loss of a child. It is a cathartic, sentimental book, with many funny and sad anecdotes, from the beginning involving. I highly recommend it.
