我比较喜欢把股份授权证明机制看作是技术上的民主。想想在这个世界上有多少操蛋的老板，你是否想拥有一个作为雇员可以把自己的无能老板炒鱿鱼的制度？好吧，现在有一个非常接近员工可以解雇上司的机制，它就叫做股份授权证明机制。（简写作DPOS）

如果你已经在比特币的奇妙世界里待过一段时间，你可能接触过像工作量证明、权益证明、重要性证明等一些共识算法。这次吧我并不打算用那些专业术语来解释什么是DPOS，我希望5岁的小朋友也能读懂。
为什么引入DPOS机制？

一个叫Daniel Larimer区块链工程师觉得比特币挖矿太浪费能源了，同时他意识到由于大矿池执掌着比特币网络，在未来比特币挖矿将趋于中心化。而且，他想建立一个交易速度达到10万每秒的系统。比特币系统的既定设计和使用的工作量证明机制（简写作POS）使它的处理速度相当缓慢。他就决定创建一个仅需要少量能源系统、有闪电般速度又很安全的全新的机制。Dan把它命名为股份授权证明机制，即DPOS。


DPOS有哪些要素？

一个特定数字货币社区的人员投票来决定保障他们电脑网络的见证人。

只有排名前20的见证人会获得报酬，因为在他们身后有数以百计千计的见证人后备军。
 
社区人员的投票能力是由他们持有的代币数量决定的。这意味着持有代币数越多的人影响力越大。

随着社区扩大竞争也加大，想要继续做个领薪的见证人也越来越难了。

如果一个见证人开始变得行为很渣或者不再好好工作来保障网络，那社区的人可以撤回他们的投票，实际就是让表现糟糕的人下台。投票是一直进行的。

这个机制能有效运作是因为它能淘汰差劲的人，同时推出新的有价值的人。它依赖于社区中活跃的投票人，所以让新成员了解机制如何运行对于系统的健康发展非常有必要。我已经在Steem社区超过一年了，看着见证人们由于他们的行动和声誉来来去去。
