Today we will leave the hilltops and visit the valley of the Černá River near the South Bohemian town of Kaplice.</div>

Řeka pramení v Rakousku, protéká malebnou krajinou Novohradských hor a severně od Kaplice se vlévá do řeky Malše.</div>

V krátkém úseku toku řeky, který dnes navštívíme, je k vidění spoustu skalních útvarů tvořených granodioritem. Na skalách je dobře patrné mrazové zvětrávání. Na některých místech tvoří skály tzv. Mrazové sruby.</div>
<div class="pull-left">In the short stretch of the river that we will visit today, you can see a lot of rock formations made of granodiorite. Frost weathering is clearly visible on the rocks. In some places, the rocks form so-called frost cabins.</div>

V „našem“ úseku řeky je také k vidění zřícenina gotického hradu Sokolčí. Nečekejte však nic velkého. Jen malé zbytky hradního paláce a základy obranné věže.</div>
<div class="pull-left">The ruins of the Gothic Sokolčí castle can also be seen in "our" section of the river. But don't expect anything big. Only small remains of the castle palace and the foundations of the defense tower.</div>

Zajímavý je také skalní ostroh, na kterém se zřícenina nachází. Vrchol skaliska je asi dvacet metrů nad tokem říčky Černé.<br>
Podle řetězových úchytů a kovových ok na stěně skály je poznat, že na skále trénují horolezci.</div>
<div class="pull-left">The rock promontory on which the ruin is located is also interesting. The top of the rock is about twenty meters above the Černá river.<br>
From the chain handles and metal eyes on the rock wall, you can tell that climbers are training on the rock.</div>

Prozradím vám malé tajemství říčky Černá.<br>
Znáte <i>švarctavíny</i>? Asi ne. Je to místní specifikum.<br>
V nánosech řeky lze totiž najít modravě zbarvené „kameny“. Kameny to však nejsou. Je to struska ze zaniklých sklářských hutí na horním toku řeky v Novohradských horách.</div>
<div class="pull-left">I will tell you a little secret of the Černá river.<br>
Do you know <i>švarctavins</i>? Probably not. It is a local specialty.<br>
Blue colored "stones" can be found in the sediments of the river. However, they are not stones. It is slag from defunct glass smelters on the upper reaches of the river in the Novohradske Mountains.</div>
