Imagine, trying to find intelligent life out there, finding signs of it, and then getting scared that they found us.
I find this very amusing. Like, you don't start shouting "is anyone there" without the intention of getting a response. You need to choose whether you are ready for a conversation, BEFORE you start shouting.

The golden disk aboard the Voyager space craft is a really weird statement. In a really weird form. It is like a child, with crayons, writing a letter to the President explaining preferred economic policy.
And Never A Straight Answer's response? Don't tell anyone we have gotten a message from something obviously intelligent.

## We discovered radio waves, we iz so advanced!
It is really the height of hubris to think we are advanced when we just discovered radio waves.
It would be like those using telegraph thinking they are at the pinnacle, when we know about telephone, and then the internet, and then entangled particles. And then, writing stories about contacting strange new worlds, through the telegraph. "Somewhere out in the deserts of New Mexico, two civilizations connected when their telegraph wires became entangled."
We know how slow transmission is with EM pulses (the speed of light). And we assume that other "advanced races" will be using this radio transmission for inter-stellar communication. And then, have only looked for radio waves.
It is like SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) was set up to fail. We will have the silly scientists poke around in the radio waves, knowing nothing is there. And "top scientists" are now terrified that they found something.

## We think that we are alone, after countless encounters and "abductions"
The Roswell crash/encounter was a disaster for mankind.
Basically, some aliens told the govern-cement how to "shoot down" flying saucers by hitting them with lots of radar waves. And then "we" shot one down in Roswell NM. And then "we" hid the knowledge of what we did, and covered up the story by creating "conspiracy theories". (calling people crazy who looked at the data and came to obvious conclusions)
There have been so many abductions that that should have been the only thing discussed on the nightly news. But, strangely the news is quiet.
Basically, someone in the higher echelons of govern-cement decided that it was too destructive to tell mere mortals about aliens. "The people would freak out, and religion would collapse, and the economy would collapses, and people would go insane fearing the worst from alien visitors.
When, actually, most people who have had encounters are like, hmmm, interesting.
But, this is what we are dealing with now. A "govern-cement" group thinking they are helping humanity by keeping everything secret, when really, they only want to keep all the knowledge/power for themselves.

## NASA thinks they are protecting us
And so, the "public" space bureau is keeping us nosy, scientific minded people from having any access to the truth, while trying to look completely open and transparent.
It is obvious to anyone who really looks that Need Another Seven Astronots is lying and hiding information. They create shows that are worse than the SciFi that Hollywood makes. Green-screen errors all over the place. Floating on wires. Computer generated items, and computer generated errors. Bubbles in space. Reuse of footage. Excess use of hairspray. The list goes on and on.
And also, things that NASA really seem to be doing is all hush hush. Security clearances on top of security clearances. Things that world should really know about. Things that we paid a bureau to give us information about.
But they are under the assumption that they are protecting us. Because humanity would go insane if they actually knew aliens existed.

So, Voyager 1 turned, by itself, and started transmitting information (without battery power). And, the scientists first thoughts is that this is just random noise, and an error caused by ageing technology. (or maybe that is just the cover story and they know what they've got)
And now that this information is leaking out, what do the videos say? "OMG, we might have told aliens were our home was!" "How could we have been so careless?" Scientists, please. You don't send out messages without any plans for a response.
My feelings of this encounter is like this. So, we have aliens flying around our planet watching us, seeing our "scary alien" movies, and working out how to knock politely on the door without scaring people too much. So, why not connect your telegraph wires to theirs? And this is what i think they did.
For an alien race to find the Voyager 1 and learn about it, take over its controls, recharge its batteries (probably all without actually touching it) would be fairly easy. In fact, it would provide sooooo much information about how human tech works, and how humans think. So, well worth the effort.
Then, carefully craft a message, and have Voyager 1 send it to waiting radio dishes. These aliens are just using the available communication device to communicate. And from the communication it is very apparent that they have been watching us for a while, and understand our computing and our quantum computers we used to analyze the data they sent. The message they sent was very specific. Some are saying (not in this video) that the data reprogrammed the quantum computers that was analyzing the data. That "alien picture" shown on the video thumbnail was sent as a set of structures. And rumor is that each person who looks at it sees something different.
So, here we are, with probably the most meaningfully important information, and the public just has to guess at what is happening from the rumours spilling out of Never A Straight Answer.
