Hello, hello [Shadow Hunters](https://ecency.com/created/hive-179017) community! Welcome to my entry in the [round #212](https://ecency.com/hive-179017/@olgavita/reflection-hunters-contest-round-222) Reflection Hunters contest. This time, I've decided to go out exclusively to hunt reflections in the city, more specifically in downtown Caracas.

I've been hunting many of my reflections either at the university where I work, in the labs where I teach classes, or at the institute where I do research. So, for a change, I went out to downtown Caracas to find some wonderful reflections worth sharing with you. It's not that easy, since downtown Caracas is primarily historic, so there aren't many modern structures with reflective surfaces. Just as I was losing motivation and heading home, I found inspiration and noticed this large building, part of the Women's Protection Institute, whose black windows created the reflection I was looking for.

I loved how this photograph turned out, first because of the large buildings in that late 1970s style. In fact, most buildings have that style. It creates that feeling of living in the 1980s, which is the main reason why it's hard to get good reflections in downtown Caracas. But what was most striking to me is that this reflection captures the elevated road you can see in the background. This is the Fuerzas Armadas Avenue elevated road, built in 1956. That's right, my friends, this elevated road is almost 70 years old and is an icon of the city's main avenue.

Under this bridge, you can discover an entire cultural underworld filled with book sellers, old novels, and equally old collectibles. When I was a university student, I enjoyed spending hours under that elevated road looking for a very old book or novel that I couldn't find anywhere else.

Hola, hola comunidad de [Shadow Hunters](https://ecency.com/created/hive-179017)! Les doy la bienvenida a mi entra al concurso Reflection Hunters en su [round #212](https://ecency.com/hive-179017/@olgavita/reflection-hunters-contest-round-222). Y en esta ocasión he decidido hacer una salida exclusivamente para cazar reflejos en la ciudad, más específicamente en el centro de Caracas.

Muchos de mis reflejos los he estado cazando ya sea en la universidad donde trabajo, en los laboratorios donde doy clases prácticas o en el instituto donde hago investigación. Así que para variar, salí al centro de Caracas para encontrar algún reflejo maravilloso que valiera la pena compartirles, no es algo tan sencillo ya que el centro de Caracas es principalmente histórico así que no hay estructuras muy modernas con superficies reflectantes. Justo cuando ya me estaba desmotivando y regresando a casa encontré la inspiración y pude notar este gran edificio que forma parte del instituto de protección a la mujer, cuyos ventanales negros generaban el reflejo que estaba buscando.

Me encantó como quedó esta fotografía, primero por los grandes edificios con ese estilo de finales de los años 70, en realidad la mayoría de los edificios tienen ese estilo, genera entonces esa sensación de estar viviendo en los 80 y la principal razón por la que cuesta conseguir buenos reflejos en el centro de Caracas. Pero lo más llamativo para mi es que este reflejo captura el elevado que puedes ver al fondo, este es el elevado de la Avenida Fuerzas Armadas que fue creado en 1956 así es amigos este elevado tiene ya casi 70 años y es un icono de la principal avenida de la ciudad. 

Debajo de este puente puedes descubrir todo un submundo cultural donde hay vendedores de libros, novelas antiguas y objetos coleccionables igualmente antiguos, cuando era estudiante universitario disfrutaba pasar horas debajo de ese elevado buscando algún libro o novela muy antiguas y que no podía encontrar en ningún otro lado.
