The waiting time felt just as long. It was only a routine check. For my new training as an educator I still needed a blood test and a certificate that I have no contagious diseases. No problem, I'm fit like a 40 year old sneaker, I thought to myself. In addition to the everyday annoyances of getting older everything tipi topi, I thought. You know, when they measure the blood pressure they also measure the pulse aka heart rate. ##### And I can tell you, it's always a good sign when the nurse has to measure twice and then calls the doctor, LOL. In adults, the pulse at rest is around 60 to 80 beats per minute. Mine was at 40. Funny thing, you don't feel it. It pumps up every other 15 minutes and makes some funny noises while doing so. I'm not supposed to move while it's measuring, which starts to be interesting when driving a car. Some people today probably thought I'm a drunk driver when they saw me steering and shifting with one hand...yahhhh easy on a straight, not so much in a roundabout lol. Damn thatβs crazy! I have a low heart rate as well sometimes. I used to do some great running a few years ago and plus years of skateboarding and stuff, I think my heart might be a little more accustomed to running at a slower beat. One appointment I had I think a 45 bpm. The nurse took it again and asked me if I exercised a lot lol she looked nervous. Hopefully you are just more fit than others! 40 is a little lower than I would say is decent but not terrible. If it is something, at least they found it during a routine thing instead of you passing out!

We need to switch some blood or something, I'm the opposite, high blood pressure and high heart rate and had to get on meds to keep my rate down and me from stroking out. My "resting" rate was running more like 115 or so, doing good on the meds now for a year or two. Suxors getting old and working too much.
