Contentment is the key to Happiness

*There are many quotes I have seen on Happiness, I believe in some but there are a few that I think are wrong.*

*One of the quotes on Happiness I think is wrong is* ``Happiness does not cost a thing``

*There is a price to be paid for happiness, in every happy feeling we get, we must have invested something, it could be money, emotions, hard work, or any other thing.*

*If you ask some people what makes them happy, some will say ``being with their loved ones``, ``some will say making their loved ones happy``, for others it is having money to buy expensive things that make life easier for them while some derive their happiness in helping others and putting a smile on their face.*

*All that I mentioned above definitely cost something and if you still disagree, tell me what makes you happy and I will tell you what it cost you.*

*Regardless of all this, I think true happiness is based on our mindset, contentment is the key to happiness, you can have all the money in the world and still not be as happy as a poor man if you think something is lacking in your life.*

*Happiness can be termed as a journey rather than a destination, there is no destination because Human needs are insatiable, when we achieve what we have always wanted, we suddenly don't appreciate it anymore and want something greater.*

*This is why sometimes I do not blame the politicians who have a lot of money they can't spend in their lifetime but are still greedy for more, it is just human nature and we have that greed in us just that some people learn to control theirs, I mean people with empathy and care about the welfare of others.*

*Happiness is a state of mind, so you may not derive happiness from something that makes me happy.*

*As for me, one of my ways of deriving happiness is setting a goal and every progress towards the goal makes me happy because I feel the thrill and look forward to when I will accomplish it.*

*Being positive at all times could be a way to live a happy life, do not crave everything in the world because no one has it all, you may be the richest and still not be happy, you may have what others don't have and still not be happy if you are not contented.*
