# C2 Pilipinas | Featuring @kothy

Hello again everyone! Welcome to our weekly author/artist feature. I am pleased to introduce our featured artist for this week. If you’re looking for cute and adorable, go ahead and visit @kothy’s page. She is one of the artists I admire the most in the platform. Her artwork shows how talented, humble, and determined she is as an artist. 
As a matter of fact, you might want to check out her latest [post.](https://steemit.com/ntopaz/@kothy/ntopaz--kothy--1550176157--ntopaz-steemartists-artzone-art--2019-02-21-19-04-33--artwork--none) I followed her journey in the steem blockchain and I can say that when it comes to dealing with hurdles, she is a champ! She is very vocal when it comes to the struggles she is facing in her artworks and how she tries to overcome them. 

I only knew her before as the artist who won the @tagalogtrail’s logo & avatar making contest. I am lucky enough to know her even more when she indulged me with a short and informal interview.

#### When did your drawing/sketching/art journey begin?
>I started to draw ever since I could write... I just enjoy drawing! But I've only started to take it seriously when I joined steemit and met a bunch of creative people who helped me improve :>

#### What inspires @kothy in her artworks?
>Many things inspires me to draw, to be honest, but most of the time, it's other artists' works! I see a great art and I can't help but wonder if I'll be able to reach that level someday with lots of practice.




#### How do you deal with artists block? (kung yun man ang tawag dun)
>I just stop. Drawing with a blocked mind is harder than drawing a perfectly straight line. I just end up being frustrated with what's gonna come out. So, I would look for inspirations to keep me going again :>

On her recent [Elsa post](https://steemit.com/ntopaz/@kothy/ntopaz--kothy--1550176157--ntopaz-steemartists-artzone-art--2019-02-21-19-04-33--artwork--none), here's what she said: 

>When this happens, take a few steps back. Look at your old works. Appreciate yourself a little. Hey, I did great on this one. I've come so far! Inspire yourself with others's art. Maybe watch a few tutorials and pick up some new techniques. Play a game, maybe ;) That's at least what I did, and I came back stronger! (I think)




#### Your best work so far.
>If I had to choose, I'd say my most recent Lina work! I went full creative on making her costume hehe I don't always make my own costume so I'm really happy with how this one turned out.

#### Your worst work so far.
>I don't like saying bad things about my works in case they have feelings and get hurt and decide to never let me draw anything good ever again but if I had to pick, it's the one I made using a signing tablet. I thought it was the same with drawing tablets and maan it was so bad :laughing:

#### Message for aspiring artists out there.
>There's not much to say but to never give up, I guess. I mean, everyone starts at some point. If I had given up on drawing noses, I'd be stuck with thumb looking noses...
