A week of the most interesting weather the UK can offer, torrential rain followed by blue skies and sun. You honestly have no idea what will happen throughout the day - take a coat and cook, where a t-shirt and get soaked. At least it’s been pleasant and mild - kind of good average British summer around sixteen degrees.

Coffee roasting continues to dominate with both roasters kept busy roasting our Speciality selection and bulk orders for our commercial clients. With new customer Harveys taking their first order, and a trip to Hinchcliffe Arms to deliver samples it looks like we are going to continue spreading White Rose Coffee Roasters joy around the local area.

Over on Hive I decided it was time to update my full API node https://api.c0ff33a.uk to 1.27.4 - as it was only February when the server got a full wipe and rebuild, and that turned into a epic saga of it’s own - messing around with updates is always to avoid unless necessary. Sure enough this idea went South pretty quick, Hived 1.27.4 refused to build and after too much messing around I finally noticed it was optimised for Ubuntu Server 22 and I was on 20 - so an in place update needed doing, which by good fortune actually solved the problem. The Postgres database then proved to be unhappy - so I ended up wiping that and starting fresh. Hived is now synched up and Hivemind is catching up but will still take a few days to rebuild the full database. Act least my Hive Witnesses are all running nice and smooth, as is my Hive Engine Witnesses.

And all this rain has given the Tesla Model Y chance to prove itself, all the FUD bemoans - Tesla the wipers are one that crops up a great deal - because they do not use a rain sensor but a program works out if it is wet and how much by looking at the rain over it’s cameras. Honestly the auto wipers work fine, adjusting speed to the amount of rain perfectly. And it makes perfect sense really for Tesla to cut down on sensors for rain, parking sensors etc which just add cost in fitting when they have the camera and computer system to do the same job. The Tesla Vision park assist is still a work in progress - but it does improve every update, and really it is amazing they can visualise how far any part of the car is from objects around it just from camera processing. It struggles at work though - because the path outside work is on the same level as the road (one long dropped curb) - but to the cameras I have driven over the curb.
