Happy New Year - 2023 is finally here and I am hoping it is going to be a vast improvement on last year. After a generally quiet New Year aside from watching everyone else’s fireworks as usual on the stroke of Midnight (there were masses of fireworks around where I live - not quite as many as the 5th of November but still a good 45 minutes worth from 11.45pm to 12.30am.

So a short week as Monday was a Bank Holiday - which I managed to stay away from work for the whole day which is a miracle. As expected Tuesday and Wednesday proved hectic because we had such a back log of orders to catch up from being closed a week - so a very busy start to the short week. By Thursday though we had caught up for the most part, and everything had calmed down to an expected quieter January - people tend to go all out for Christmas and New Year and let their wallets recover in January so our commercial customers are quieter and we see a general consumer slow down as well - it’s a good month to get caught up on paperwork and look at improving / streamlining our systems to be more efficient as it’s picks up with the run up to Easter.
