To sum up this week, cold, wet, foggy, dark, grey - pretty miserable really. And of course we still can't do anything much because of lockdown, which ends next Wednesday - only to start Tier 3 Lockdown which is exactly the same not able to do anything EXCEPT you can get a Christmas haircut and work out in the Gym. Pubs, restaurants and cafe's still shut - unless they can do take out. The coffee business is still rolling on, but it would be whole lot more busy without all the restrictions.

I shouldn't grumble, at least we are still selling product - for the many thousands of small business's that have been forced to close most of the year there is little to look forward to going into the festive season.

It's been another working weekend for me, thanks to the Black Friday and Cyber Weekend sales spree Amazon have managed to migrate to the UK (It's understandable in America as it follows Thanksgiving, but in the UK we have no holiday event at this time - the sales bonanza taken on by all retailers simply became a thing because Amazon brought it over) Anyway our carriers have issued collection restrictions so the network does not get flooded, so our usual Monday collection is heavily limited. To ensure all my customers still get orders in a timely fashion - I requested a Sunday collection to spread the load. Hence yesterday and today roasting and packing orders to get them out early.

So as we head into December, for the UK we have little idea what to expect heading into the New Year. The next set of restrictions will last two weeks and then be reviewed, but depending on Coronavirus cases there may be no change even then. We have confirmed from 23rd to 27th December upto 3 different households can mix so people can meet family and relatives for Christmas - but there are mixed messages about having to self isolate two weeks before and two weeks after doing that. And then it's advised if you do shop for Christmas - only spend 15 minutes in each store to reduce your chances of catching Covid - fortunately for me that's 14 minutes more then I ever need in a shop!
