Questions For My Fellow Man

How do we drop bombs on people just like us?
How can we watch them burn, turn their cities to dust?

How can we draw these imaginary lines in the dirt?
How can we say those on one side deserve to be hurt?

How can we justify death as worth the cost?
How does any man choose which lives to be lost?

Why does the word “enemy” outweigh  "fellow man"?
How do we let them suffer without doing all we can?

Aren’t we all just people, please can someone explain,
Why is it ok when its someone else’s pain?

This is my entry to this weeks round of killer poetry, I wrote this one while listening to the news a few weeks ago and thought I would share it.

I am a former Army soldier and fought in three theaters of combat. There is evil in the world, and to fight evil you need to be evil in a way yourself. The taking of another man's life is something that takes a unique kind of individual, especially when your job is literally to kill.

That was my job. 

Until Man can quell his ego..until greed, bloodlust and corruption of the soul can be cast out...there will always death at his hands. 

Now... time for me to do my other job...let me put on the thundersuit and grab my lightningbolts really quick...

I can resonate with what you are saying, however, how evil is "defined" is always different from culture to culture and even right here at home. Greed, perversion, and corruption has slowly eroded our society.
