Are you relatively new, involved in a few communities and the quality content is coming in left, right and center?

This is where I’m currently at and for the past week, I’ve been trying my best to use my 10 votes a day very wisely.

This has been very difficult when I have so many different people I want to give my vote too.

### Busy.org

Oh, I am going to get Busy alright. I’m going to have upvotes coming out of my ears!

If you haven’t already heard about Busy.org, I’ll briefly explain what it is and how it is different to Steemit.

Busy is Steemit. Well, at least the back end of it is. The front end of the platform is a different design to Steemit.com. I'll not hard sell it here, you will see for yourself when you visit the site for the first time.

To log into Busy, you will have to authorize your account using Steemconnect when you first visit. Once you’ve got your account logged in, you can start looking around and checking out the different ways that Busy is different to Steemit.

You can see in the image below how Busy is aesthetically different to the Steemit page you are used to.

Although the look of Busy is different and has a few different features, the content and your Steemit details all stay the same.

As you can tell by now, I am going to be using Busy for something. Something very helpful for a small user like myself with under 500SP.

That’s right. You can enable your very own slider on Busy through the settings.

Here is a quick little walkthrough so you can get it set up and can start splitting up your vote!

- Pop over to the top right corner of your page and look for the three dot drop down menu

- Select it and go to 'Settings'

- At the top of the page, you should see an option for 'Enable Slider', click it

- While you are here, there is a default vote slider below. You could change your vote to always be at the same percentage using this option. This could cut out the need for a slider if you just want to stick to a certain amount

### Is it worth splitting up my voting power right now?

I’ve considered whether or not it is worthwhile and I’m not sure how some people might respond to getting a £0.002 (£0.00) upvote on their comment from me.

I feel like it shouldn’t matter.

The fact that I’m splitting up my voting weight and giving a smaller percentage upvote to different people feels right to me.

I always prefer to know if someone is checking out my posts and comments, it makes me head over to their posts more, to be honest. Even if it was just a small vote to drop by and share appreciation, it lets us see who is genuinely interested in our work.

A better spread across all the communities I’m involved in sounds better than 10 vote days that are limited straight off the bat.

The only thing I would point out is that a small upvote doesn't replace a meaningful comment. A comment on a post which sparks a discussion or gets some Q&A's bounced about is what you are really after. The engagement of interested people is what you should be striving for.

### A little perk from Busy

Another great thing about using Busy is that you will receive a little upvote from Busy when you make a post on Busy.org and use the tag ‘busy’ (busy, busy busy!). You can receive a vote every 12 hours.

When you are just starting out this is awesome! If you are posting great content daily and you are looking for that little boost in your post, Busy might be the place to start your journey.

I can imagine in the future there is going to be a lot of different front-end designs for the Steemit experience, getting used to the features and benefits of different types can change the way you associate with the site.

### Spontaneity or Structure?

How do you approach your check in’s to Steemit?
Do you have a structure to your commenting and voting?
Do you have certain things automated with SteemAuto?
You like to just go with the flow?

It’s nice to have a routine I think. I would like to get into the habit of doing a base amount of Upvotes and comments and then anything extra is a bonus. I usually just go about Steemit very randomly and I always try my best to get some Upvotes and comments on The Steem Engine and BuddyUP community posts.

Maybe a systematic approach to it might be a better idea. Setting some goals and seeing how things go over the course of the next month.

If anybody has any comments about their approach, please drop a line below. It's interesting to hear how much time people spend on the platform and how users utilise their time when visiting Steemit.

By March 31st I’m going to aim for;

- 500 followers
- 1500 posts
- 500SP
- 200 BuddyUP members
- 30 votes a day for 30 days.


I’m finding some great people on the platform lately and I'm starting to understand how things work more and more everyday. I want to try and help along anyone else who is just starting out and would like to chat about different elements that they aren’t sure of.

And if I don’t know something, we can find out together!
