Pedro despertó a las cinco de la mañana, como solía hacer, extendió su brazo para levantar a su mujer -María- pero solo palpó la sábana, insistió y tocó la almohada, abrió los ojos y se dio cuenta de que su mujer no estaba en la cama. Se levantó de mal humor, pensando donde estaría, sin embargo, una leve sonrisa asomó a sus labios; pensó <strong>“seguro que está en la cocina montando el café”,</strong> con mejor ánimo terminó de levantarse, calzó las chancletas y caminó hacia el baño.

Al salir llamó a su esposa en dos  ocasiones, pero ésta no contestaba, cambió de dirección y fue directo a la cocina y allí tampoco estaba ella, gritó con fuerza <strong>¡Coño, María  dónde estás, tengo hambre!</strong>

¡Y en donde anda Karla -adolescente de 14 años-ya es hora de ir a la escuela ¡Karla, Karla!

Se dio cuenta de que en la casa solo escuchaba su propia voz. Eso le hizo perder la paciencia y corrió hacia el cuarto de la hija, abrió la puerta y tampoco estaba la niña.

<em>¿Qué pasa en esta casa?</em> Fue lo primero que le vino a la cabeza <em>¡Carajo con estas mujeres! ¿Qué se han hecho?</em> Estas preguntas se las hizo caminando hacia el comedor, allí se sentó en una silla y meditó por un corto rato ¡De pronto recordó! ¡Claro, salieron de compras al mercado! ¡Qué pendejo soy, hoy es sábado, la niña no tiene clases! ¡Eso es todo! Y yo tan… Se levantó, montó el agua y después que calentó suficiente preparó y se sirvió el café. Mientras llevaba la taza con la bebida negra a su boca, volvió a preguntarse: <em>¿se fueron de compras? ¿Por qué no me llamaron, o dejaron una nota por lo menos?</em> <strong>¡Desconsideradas y falta de respetos! ¡Ay María, ay Karla, cuando lleguen, tendremos unas palabras, mejor dicha palabrotas de las grandes!</strong>

Pedro woke up at five in the morning, as he used to do, he extended his arm to lift his wife -María- but he only felt the sheet, insisted and touched the pillow, opened his eyes and realized that his wife was not in bed. He got up in a bad mood, wondering where she was, however, a slight smile appeared on his lips; he thought <strong>"surely she is in the kitchen making the coffee",</strong> with a better mood he finished getting up, put on his flip-flops and walked to the bathroom.

When he came out he called his wife twice, but she didn't answer, he changed direction and went straight to the kitchen and she wasn't there either, he shouted loudly <strong>Cunt, Maria where are you, I'm hungry!</strong>.

And where is Karla -a 14 year old teenager- it's time to go to school Karla, Karla!

She realized that in the house she only heard her own voice. That made her lose her patience and she ran to her daughter's room, opened the door and the girl was not there either.

<em>What's going on in this house?</em> It was the first thing that came to his mind <em>Fuck with these women! What have they done to themselves?</em> These questions he asked himself walking to the dining room, there he sat on a chair and meditated for a short while Suddenly he remembered! Of course, they went shopping at the market! What an asshole I am, today is Saturday, the girl has no classes! That's all! And I so... He got up, mounted the water and after it warmed up enough he prepared and poured himself the coffee. As she took the cup with the black drink to her mouth, she asked herself again: <em>Did they go shopping? Why didn't they call me, or leave a note at least?</em> <strong>Inconsiderate and disrespectful! Oh Maria, oh Karla, when they arrive, we'll have a few words, better said big swear words!</strong>

Esta tragedia doméstica desarrollándose en la casa de Pedro, se repetía en casi toda las casas del pueblo. Porque ese día, que había amanecido como cualquier otro, tenía algo especial: Por ejemplo a las seis y media de la mañana, en la parada del autobús que cubre la ruta Altagracia-Arrendajos, solo había hombres esperando el transporte: Escolares, liceístas, obreros, etc. Por donde se dirigiese la vista era imposible ver una mujer; niña, adolescente, joven o vieja <strong>¡Ninguna! ¡Absolutamente, ninguna!</strong>

En una ciudad con fama de tener tres o cuatro mujeres por cada hombre, a esa hora y en un sitio tan concurrido, era verdaderamente extraño, que ¡No hubiese una sola mujer tomando el autobús!

Igual acontecía en los cafetines, podía observarse a los parroquianos asiduos a esos lugares, charlando y compartiendo, pero sin la presencia de féminas.

En la prefectura extrañaban a las oficiales Nuñez y Pedríquez, eran ya las 09:00 AM  y aún no llegaban.

Algo semejante pasaba en los tribunales, cuerpo de bomberos, milicia y alcaldía.

Por supuesto que escuelas, liceos, tecnológicos y universidades, quedaron despobladas del género femenino.

Uno de los casos más graves era el hospital y los ambulatorios: En el hospital desapareció la  Directora y casi todo el cuerpo médico, por no hablar de las enfermeras.

Los ambulatorios quedaron vacíos y los asistentes por atención- claro está, los asistentes masculinos- no tuvieron otro remedio que regresar a casa. <strong>¡Era un caos como pocas veces visto en estas instituciones sanitarias de la ciudad!</strong>

¡Ni que decir cuando los hombres llegaron a sus hogares, luego de una jornada laboral!

Si en la calle no vieron ninguna, ahora en sus casas no se encontraban ¡Sus mujeres! ¿qué se han hecho? Se decían sin atinar alguna respuesta. Salieron en busca de ellas; visitaron a los vecinos, pero allí encontraron que <strong>¡Éstos también preguntaban por las suyas!</strong>

Por varias horas hasta la mañana siguiente, cada niño, joven, papá; abuelo, hermano, tío, primo; etc. Iba de un lugar a otro tratando de localizar las huellas de sus familiares (Léase mujeres).

Pero mientras eso acontecía, hubo de llevar a todos los infantes que aún mamaban teta o biberón, a un lugar donde atenderlos. En esta coyuntura fueron de mucha utilidad los <strong>sexo-diversos;</strong> quienes se abocaron con disciplina y vocación en el cuidado y alimentación de los pequeñitos, demostrando gran capacidad de organización y resistencia física.

But while this was going on, all the infants who were still breast or bottle feeding had to be taken to a place where they could be cared for. At this juncture, the <strong>sexo-diversos;</strong> who devoted themselves with discipline and vocation to the care and feeding of the little ones, demonstrating great organizational skills and physical endurance, were very useful.

Por días enteros las autoridades policiales, bomberiles, de desastres, etc. -Todos hombres, claro está- desplegaron operativos de rescate, a ellos se incorporaron numerosos voluntarios, con la esperanza de conseguir a las hembras de la casa.

La radio, televisión, redes; Internet y afines, se hicieron eco de la extraordinaria situación en la pequeña ciudad  demarcada por la selva de la Guayana venezolana.

<em>Sin que nadie supiera cómo o por qué, Las mujeres habían desaparecido. Por semanas se creyeron raptadas por algún grupo radical de izquierda, otros decían que de derecha; algunos opinaban “fueron atrapadas para la trata de blancas”- aunque la mayoría son de piel trigueña- otros especulaban sobre cofradías diabólicas o satánicas.</em>

El caso es, que después  de tres semanas, aún estaban sin saber de ellas.

Radio, television, networks, Internet and the like, echoed the extraordinary situation in the small town demarcated by the jungle of the Venezuelan Guayana.

<em>Without anyone knowing how or why, the women had disappeared. For weeks they were believed to have been kidnapped by some radical leftist group, others said right-wing; some said "they were trapped for the white slave trade"</em> - although most of them are brown-skinned - others speculated about diabolical or satanic brotherhoods.

The fact is, after three weeks, they were still unaccounted for.

En la ciudad existían siete templos cristianos-dos católicos apostólicos romanos, uno bautista, uno Pentecostés y otro llamado de la iglesia libre-, una pequeña capilla santera y varios curiosos o brujos populares. En todos estos lugares se realizaron reuniones, misas, cultos; sesiones para exorcizar a los demonios robadores de mujeres, pidiendo por su devolución.

Los vecinos desesperados, al ver la inoperancia de sus respectivos credos acudieron a las ánimas buscadoras de cosas perdidas: Invocaron a <a href="http://mitoscuentosleyendasanectotas.blogspot.com/2013/07/el-anima-de-parasco.html" target="_blank">Parasco</a>- ánima ubicada en <a href="https://gelvez.com.ve/bolivar/poblados/altagracia-21188.html" target="_blank">Altagracia</a> de <a href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upata" target="_blank">Upata</a>- a <a href="https://peakd.com/hive-148441/@camborio/esp-or-eng-por-la-ruta-del-yare-el-ingles-or-the-yare-route-the-english" target="_blank">El Inglés</a> – aparición de Los <a href="http://wikimapia.org/39983527/es/Los-Arrendajos" target="_blank">Arrendajos</a>- a <a href="https://espiritismovenezolano.jimdofree.com/2017/03/03/mar%C3%ADa-francisca-duarte-mam%C3%A1-pancha-%C3%B3-el-%C3%A1nima-de-taguapire/" target="_blank">Francisca o Pancha Duarte</a>- Sin duda una de las más populares manifestaciones de <a href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venezuela" target="_blank">Venezuela</a>, residenciada en <a href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Municipio_Santa_Mar%C3%ADa_de_Ipire" target="_blank">Santa María de Ipire</a>, <a href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estado_Gu%C3%A1rico" target="_blank">Estado Guárico</a>- y al ánima del <a href="https://espiritismovenezuela.foroes.org/t1212-don-juan-del-chaparro" target="_blank">Chaparro</a>- camino a <a href="https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guasipati" target="_blank">Guasipati</a> por el <a href="https://satellites.pro/mapa_de_El_Manteco.Region_de_Guayana.Venezuela" target="_blank">Manteco</a>- en fin, cada curioso invocó a la <a href="https://www.venezuelatuya.com/religion/marialionza.htm" target="_blank">Reina María Lionza</a>  incluyendo a  <a href="https://albaciudad.org/2020/05/quien-fue-el-negro-primero-pedro-camejo-libro-pdf/" target="_blank">Negro Primero</a>. 

Ciertamente que al comienzo muchos lloraron, no solamente los bebés, hijos pequeños; lloraron los padres, abuelos; tíos, amigos. La mayoría extrañaba el calor de su mujer o su amante.

Hubo casos -muy contados- en que lamentablemente los enamorados perdidos, optaron por una soga y tiñeron una estampa macabra en el paisaje del pueblo; fueron muy pocos como dice arriba, pero dejaron tristeza en la comunidad por mucho tiempo.

Certainly at the beginning many cried, not only babies, young children; parents, grandparents; uncles, aunts, uncles, friends cried. Most missed the warmth of their wife or lover.

There were cases -very few- in which unfortunately the lost lovers, opted for a rope and stained a macabre picture in the landscape of the town; they were very few as it says above, but they left sadness in the community for a long time.

Sin embargo la mayoría apostó por continuar, haciendo verdaderos esfuerzos para minimizar la pérdida,logrando atenuarlas con el pasar de los meses.

Fue así como, el domador supremo de las angustias; <em>“el tiempo” desgastó lentamente la dependencia que los hombres habían desarrollado a través  de la maternidad, o de la junta conyugal.</em>

Poco a poco algunos oficios fueron asumidos por los hombres: En los hospitales, aunque se había ido el personal médico, las enfermeras, camilleras y porteras; descubrieron que los escasos médicos varones, bastaba para atender a los escasos enfermos varones.

La situación se fue regularizando como cuando ocurre un cataclismo y no hay más remedio que continuar. El fenómeno se repitió en el cuerpo de bomberos, tribunales; registro civil, comedores, y otros.

La policía estaba un poco más atareada, porque había mucho más delincuentes varones que mujeres, sin embargo se destacó un equipo especial de la milicia, para su auxilio.

Uno veía a los vendedores ambulantes ofreciendo sus mercancías, los taxistas, motorizados y choferes de autobuses; cumpliendo rutinariamente sus respectivas faenas, y pareciera que nunca hubiese existido mujer alguna.

El único colegio de monjas, fue sustituido por una escuela de padres capuchinos, quedando conformes padres y alumnos -repetimos, todos hombres-.

Un nuevo alcalde reemplazó a la alcaldesa de la ciudad, igualmente teníamos una cámara edilicia con puros machos pro-activos, o pro-delictivos, según las voces populares. 

Positivamente los críos, eran bien alimentados y atendidos por los sexo-diversos, en los liceos se turnaron solidariamente -algo raro, pero veraz- los profesores; igual pasó en la universidad y tecnológicos. El ministerio de educación, hizo un llamado a jubilados y bachilleres para incorporarlos a las clases en las escuelas, táctica la cual, dio buenos resultados.

De esta manera cada espacio social: Religioso, deportivo, político; cultural, popular o de élites, campesino, etc., etc., etc. Asumieron que ya era el momento de <strong>¡Continuar en esta tierra de Dios! </strong>

The police were a little busier, because there were many more male than female delinquents, but a special militia team was deployed to help them.

One could see street vendors offering their wares, cab drivers, motorcyclists and bus drivers, routinely carrying out their respective tasks, and it seemed as if there had never been any women.

The only school of nuns, was replaced by a school of Capuchin fathers, being satisfied parents and students -we repeat, all men-.

A new mayor replaced the mayoress of the city, and we also had an edilicia chamber with purely pro-active males, or pro-delictive, according to the popular voices. 

Positively, the children were well fed and cared for by the sex-diverse, in the high schools the teachers took turns in solidarity -something rare, but true-; the same happened in the university and technological schools. The Ministry of Education made a call to retirees and high school graduates to incorporate them to the classes in the schools, a tactic which gave good results.

In this way, each social space: religious, sports, political, cultural, popular or elite, peasant, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc. They assumed that it was time to <strong>Continue on this land of God!</strong>

Las cosas se ejecutaban sin apuros, ya no había tanto apremio por hacer café en la casa  de Pedro o  de buscar mujeres para el sexo; muchos de estos “oficios” se trasladaron al género diverso-sexual, los cuales con increíble pericia, habían tomado las riendas de la situación; varios de ellos recibieron condecoraciones de la municipalidad, por los encomiables  servicios prestados.

Luego de transcurridos seis meses, la municipalidad decidió realizar una asamblea, convocando al pueblo entero, en ella se acordó elaborar retratos de mujeres insignes de la localidad y colocarlos en espacios públicos, para que nadie olvidara su legado; de igual manera se instó a la comunidad para que en cada casa tuvieran una referencia o imagen de sus familiares femeninas, sirviendo no solo de efigie de recuerdos, si no para <em> atenuar la sensación de soledad y desamparo causado por su ausencia.</em>

En el año 2035, Upata era la única ciudad de América latina sin mujeres, <em>un territorio donde la sonrisa femenina había desaparecido de la memoria de los niños pequeños y hasta de los adolescentes.</em>

Se levantaron barreras para evitar la entrada de alguna mujer desprevenida o de familiares de las desaparecidas, se creó una brigada especial de rastreo y seguimiento, para eliminar cualquier deformación en los más pequeños; es decir: Hábitos de decir mamá, chupar dedos o algo que les recordara a sus madres.

A la entrada del pueblo, se colocaron varias pancartas aupando a la ciudadanía -todos hombres repetimos- a <strong>“Continuar con ardua labor de contribuir al progreso de la comunidad”</strong>. Toda la ciudad estaba cercada por alcabalas...

Así estaban las cosas hasta el día en que se comenzaron a escuchar por las noches de luna nueva, o luna negra, cánticos a coro de voces femeninas, nadie sabía de donde provenían; se escuchaban muy lejos pero claras y por periodos prolongados.

<em>Después de dos lustros, Upata no solo se conocía en el mundo por ser una ciudad sin mujeres, sino por las excelentes comodidades de sus hoteles, surgieron gracias al turismo atraído por las hermosísimas voces que invadían completamente el aire del pueblo, inundando de melodías las noches de luna negra...</em>
