PKM Token: Another way of earning from Splinterlands, Can it push SPS price up?

Splinterlands is offering of variety of ways to Play2Earn starting from the *DEC rewards* from battles wins to the *SPS airdrop* for holding certain assets of the game and *SPT rewards* for posting about this game on splintertalk.io.

Unfortunately, SPS Token price, the governance token, has been on a decline for a couple of months and hovering around the 10 cents mark right now.

However, **PeakMonster**, a third-party Splinterlands market platform, may give some hope and ignite the demand for the SPS but how?

# PKM Token

PKM Token is the most recent big announcement from PeakMonsters Team, it consists of an **utility** and **profit sharing** token. You can put your hand on his token through:
- Airdrop
	- Large Transaction Bonus
	- The **Big** 52 weeks Airdrop
- Buying
	- From the Market
	- From the **Liquidity Pool**

Our Focus on this post will be the Liquidity Pool 
- but hey what does SPS have in all this?
- It's because we'll be talking about **PKM/SPS Pool**

# PKM/SPS Pool
So in order to provide liquidity for this pool, you need to provide 50% of SPS and 50% of PKM.
So the higher the demand for PKM, the higher the demand is for SPS too since it's the ONLY pool available for PKM and the ONLY way to enjoy the **Incentive** of providing liquidity.

You can check out the pool on [Beeswap](https://beeswap.dcity.io/swap?pools&search=PKM) or [Tribaldex](https://tribaldex.com/dieselpools/pools). As for now there are no rewards for providing liquidity until the 24th March.

*Pro Tip*: Do you know that each liquidity provider get a share of the **0.25% fees** generated from swaping back and forth between the 2 Tokens (such high trading volume tho):

The PeakMonster team didn't fail to get us excited for the pool rewards as they announced more than **$50,000** ready to be distributed over *120 days*:

As you saw earlier, the total liquidity is around $340k but the team did mention:

> Team members getting PKM set aside to help Liquidity will **not** be eligible for Liquidity Pool Rewards.

So only the fresh, new blood from investors will be eligible for the rewards and I'm really curious about what the APR will be at the 24th March, it'll surely attract a lot of **attention** which what it's needed for both **PKM** and on a second plan **SPS** growth.

That's not all, the team does plan to add approx **$3000** on a monthly basis to the reward pool depending on the state of the game / revenue generated. => ***APR boost!*** 

> We plan to add every month or quarter to the reward pool from PeakMonsters.com profits. Since our profits go up and down each month, our donations to the reward pool will also change monthly. We suspect it will be at least $3,000 monthly, but as Splinterlands and PeakMonsters grows, those donations may go up.

*What's the expected APR?* I'm pretty sure it'll be **more than 100% APR** for most of the time, probably **more than 200%** in the early days. I can't make a closer assemption since I have no idea the eligible liquidity for the rewards but we'll surely know on the 24th!

# PKM & SPS Price

PKM price seems to find itself a floor at **0.02 Hive** and we can't really say too much about the price at an early stage but pay attention to the price difference when buying between:
- *Market*: lowest sell order at **0.034 Hive** / **$0.031**

- *Diesel Pool*: you can buy at **$0.019** approx **0.02 Hive**

The chart doesn't look to great for SPS but it seems it found itself a floor at **0.1$** and hopefully the only way for SPS is to go up with the starting ignite from the PKM project!

# Conclusion

Huge liquidity rewards, a high expected APR, price seems to be holding on, of course a well-known and solid project but as usually not enough funds to get into.
Not financial advise, I do believe it'll be best to get into early and keep auto-compounding the rewards into the pool to grow even bigger and for higher rewards.
What will be your plan? Will there be some sort of staking and the possibility to earn PKM from posting?

PKM is such a cool token - being essentially a form of cash back on each Peakmonsters purchase. The Peakmonsters team has been great at making the SPL experience better - I hope they will succeed with making the coin successful as well; I surely believe in them! 

I am getting some airdropped for being tier 7 personally and hopefully I'll be able to provide some liquidity overtime as well.
