Por mi casa quedaba una tienda de antigüedades, digo quedaba pues la casa continúa en pie, pero ya no es una tienda ni está llena de objetos curiosos. Era una tienda un tanto peculiar, quizás por eso tuvo que cerrar. Casi siempre estaba cerrada, y cuando estaba abierta había una reja que impedía la entrada al lugar. En realidad nunca estuve segura que en realidad fuese una tienda.
Estaba ubicada en una de esas casas de principios del siglo pasado, modesta y un poco desarreglada, y desde la entrada, cuando estaba abierta, podía ver figuras llenas de polvo, un poco inquietantes, que solían variar poco la ubicación. Todos los objetos me resultaban un poco inquietantes, así que cuando paraba por ahí y estaba abierto, siempre, me detenía a mirar. Una vez pasé y encontré la pantalla de una lámpara abandonada en la acera, todavía con la etiqueta, ilegible.
Traje la pantalla a casa esperando darle un buen uso, y que mejor que hacer un collage en ella, aquí traigo el proceso y el resultado de este experimento.

Lo primero que hice fue arrancar el borde de los extremos, para tener todo el espacio libre para intervenir con recortes de revistas la pantalla, luego la lavé con agua, jabón y un cepillo, quitando todo el polvo acumulado y cuando estuvo bien limpia la dejé secar durante varios días, la pantalla está hecha de plástico recubierto con un papel de tela un poco poroso. Una vez seca, comenzó el proceso. Fue cuando cambié de opinión y decidí recubrirla por fuera con tela, pero esto no resultó, pues las medidas no eran simétricas en la parte superior y la inferior. Decidí retomar el plan inicial.
Con la ayuda del spray adhesivo de 3M comencé a pegar los recortes más vistosos de las revistas que tenía en casa, quería que tuviese tanta variedad y colores como fuese posible. Comencé con paneles grandes, y cuando ya no había lugar para estos recortes, empecé a rellenar los espacios faltantes con recortes más pequeños.
>The first thing I did was to tear off the edge of the ends, to have all the free space to intervene with magazine clippings the screen, then I washed it with water, soap and a brush, removing all the accumulated dust and when it was well clean I let it dry for several days, the screen is made of plastic coated with a cloth paper a little porous. Once dry, the process began. That's when I changed my mind and decided to cover it on the outside with cloth, but this did not work, as the measurements were not symmetrical at the top and bottom. I decided to go back to the initial plan.

>With the help of 3M adhesive spray I started to glue the most colorful cuttings from the magazines I had at home, I wanted it to have as much variety and colors as possible. I started with large panels, and when there was no more room for these clippings, I started filling in the missing spaces with smaller clippings.

Mi principal temor era que no iluminara lo suficiente al colocar estos recortes opacos sobre la superficie. Así que mientras más avanzaba la cobertura con papel iba haciendo pruebas, y resultó en una luz divina que resulta del proceso.
Así que continué hasta ocupar toda la superficie, me encantó el resultado, como el amor late en mi corazón también coloqué algunas frases que encontré en estas revistas. Mis dedos quedaron llenos de pega, que ni siquiera mi teléfono reconocía mi huella.
Aplicaba el pegamento en aerosol sobre la pantalla, colocaba el recorte y estiraba con la ayuda de un paño de tela suave para que no quedaran burbujas, estuve en el proceso alrededor de dos horas.
La otra decisión que me tocó tomar, y que aún no me decido, es que tipo de lámpara usar, tengo una lámpara de mesa que debo restaurar también, pintarla y reemplazar el cable, ya que el mecanismo de encendido no funciona. O comprar todo el mecanismo para hacerla una lámpara de techo, pero creo que la primera opción es la que va ganado, pues considero que su estética y el detalle, además del estilo de la lámpara no son compatibles con una lámpara de techo.

>The other decision I had to make, and I still haven't decided, is what kind of lamp to use, I have a table lamp that I have to restore as well, paint it and replace the cable, since the ignition mechanism doesn't work. Or buy the whole mechanism to make it a ceiling lamp, but I think the first option is the one that will win, because I consider that its aesthetics and detail, in addition to the style of the lamp are not compatible with a ceiling lamp.
Hecha ya esta decisión el siguiente paso sería cubrir el interior de la pantalla con papel autoadhesivo, colocar una cinta de tela en los bordes, y pintar la estructura metálica de la pantalla. Y aplicar un barniz al agua mate para proteger el resultado.
Así que mientras me hago con los materiales que aún faltan, ya que la cinta de tela no era apropiada con la combinación de colores, y esto cambió toda la paleta de colores, para la base de la lámpara y el color de la estructura interna de la pantalla, y por supuesto la cinta de tela de los bordes.
>Once this decision was made, the next step would be to cover the inside of the screen with self-adhesive paper, place a cloth tape on the edges, and paint the metal structure of the screen. And apply a matte water varnish to protect the result.

>So while I get the materials still missing, as the fabric tape was not appropriate with the color scheme, and this changed the whole color palette, for the base of the lamp and the color of the internal structure of the lampshade, and of course the fabric tape on the edges.
