From an economic perspective, oil companies in charge of oil and gas exploitation should take advantage of good oil prices and obtain good cash flows and thus be able to increase the pace of decarbonization of their businesses. 

For some time now, greater responsibility has been demanded to reduce the carbon emissions generated by the entire oil chain. The possible reduction of carbon emissions could have important implications in the short and medium term in the strategies that some oil companies may take in terms of allocation of monetary capital.

Oil companies in general should be aware that they have had several decades of warning that their business is being threatened by the way in which hydrocarbons are managed for energy generation.  This and other reasons makes us think that oil industries should take advantage of the excellent cash flow they are getting from good oil prices to invest in solutions to what the industry itself has been generating for years. 

### ***What can be done under the current scenario of oil prices?***

The global oil industry has an excellent opportunity to do everything right, because with the excellent cash flow derived from good oil prices it can return cash to shareholders while at the same time strengthening balance sheets to increase the transformation of the oil industry towards more sustainable production directions.

This whole scenario also makes us think that the time has come to hedge longer-term carbon risk by taking advantage of increased but low-carbon investment.

### ***Conclusion***

Many of the solutions are given in an industrial and economic context, so a reinvestment in carbon abatement will be the product of an initiative that will result in a set of benefits across all sectors and on a large scale. 

We are all part of that sector that is interested in a solution, so we must all recognize together about the great dilemma faced by oil companies globally of whether to invest or not to invest puts us in an unfavorable position, as at any time oil prices can drop as a result of an increase in c ovid cases that lowers demand, causing this excellent opportunity to be lost. 

In conclusion, oil and natural gas are non-renewable natural resources that may one day become extinct, but this extinction may come sooner and at the hands of the same companies that exploit them, since if we continue to have a disunited and undisciplined oil industry, we may run the risk of increasing the speed at which the production and demand of hydrocarbons is reduced, so I believe that if this continues, oil and gas production could cease.

However, if there is a united world oil industry that has a committed response and where there is collaboration in search of a sustainable transformation while we obtain more economical energy sources, I believe that we can continue to take advantage of this industry.
