><P><div class="text-justify">¡Hola a todos en la comunidad! El día de hoy les traigo un artículo especial dedicado a uno de los momentos mas importantes que he tenido este año. Se trata de mi participación en la exposición de arte en homenaje a Armando Reverón realizado el pasado domingo 25 de Septiembre. El mismo tuvo lugar en la Terraza Cultural de Valencia, el Viñedo, un espacio dedicado a la promoción de las artes. Por lo que aquí les contaré como fue que tuve la oportunidad de entrar y cómo se desarrollo el evento, así que ¡Comencemos!</div></P>
><P><div class="text-justify">Hace algunas semanas un viejo amigo de la universidad me contactó por Facebook para comentarme sobre este evento llamado 'Expo-Arte "Reverón' y ofrecerme la oportunidad de participar. Yo, que no suelo utilizar mucho la mensajería de Facebook, estuve algunos días sin ver el mensaje y en cuanto lo leí no podía aguantar mi emoción. Le dije de inmediato que sí y el me pasó el número de contacto de la persona encargada del evento. Cabe destacar que él, mi amigo, también participaría ya que es músico y pintor.</div></P>
<P><div class="text-justify">Hello to everyone in the community! Today I bring you a special article dedicated to one of the most important moments I have had this year. It is about my participation in the art exhibition in homage to Armando Reverón held last Sunday, September 25th. It took place at the Cultural Terrace of Valencia, the Vineyard, a space dedicated to the promotion of the arts. So here I will tell you how I had the opportunity to enter and how the event developed, so let's begin!</div></P>
<P><div class="text-justify">A few weeks ago an old friend from college contacted me on Facebook to tell me about this event called 'Expo-Arte "Reverón" and offered me the opportunity to participate. I, who don't use Facebook messaging much, didn't see the message for a few days and as soon as I read it I couldn't hold my excitement. I immediately said yes and he passed me the contact number of the person in charge of the event. It should be noted that he, my friend, would also participate since he is a musician and painter.</div></P>
><P><div class="text-justify">Al contactarme con la persona que me refirió mi amigo pude entender más a profundidad el motivo del evento y cuáles eran las pautas. Se les exigió a los artistas realizar una obra que estuviera relacionada con Reverón. Cómo yo soy pintora, Álter (así se llama el coordinador del evento) me dijo que todos los pintores deben realizar un retrato de Reverón. Así que, conociendo lo que tenía que hacer me puse manos a la obra ya que solo tenía una semana para entregar la pintura. Y aquí es donde me perdí por un tiempo de Hive.</div></P>
><P><div class="text-justify">Para quienes no lo sepan, Reverón es un artista plástico venezolano conocido por sus trabajos plásticos de estilo impresionista, su arte textil (con sus muñecas), los performance, sus máscaras y ciertas obras de estilo povera (ciertas intervenciones). También se le conoció como el loco de Macuto, ya que luego de haber estudiado artes en Europa y pertenecer al círculo de Bellas Artes de Caracas, decidió establecerse en la Guaira en su famoso "Castillete" y pasar el resto de sus días junto a su amada Juanita. La cuestión es que Reverón padeció gran parte de su vida de episodios psicóticos y depresivos (gracias a la fiebre tifoidea que contrajo a sus 12 años) por lo que se le apodo de esa forma "el loco" (un tanto denigrante) y luego de algunos años, fue recluido en un sanatorio mental dónde pasaría sus últimos días.</div></P>
<P><div class="text-justify">By contacting the person my friend referred me to, I was able to understand more in depth the reason for the event and what the guidelines were. The artists were required to make a work that was related to Reverón. Since I am a painter, Álter (that is the name of the event coordinator) told me that all painters must do a portrait of Reverón. So, knowing what I had to do, I got down to work since I only had a week to deliver the painting. And this is where I got lost for a while from Hive.
<P><div class="text-justify">For those who don't know, Reveron is a Venezuelan plastic artist who is known for his impressionist style plastic works, his textile art (with his dolls), the performance, his masks and certain povera style works (certain interventions). He was also known as the madman of Macuto, since after studying art in Europe and belonging to the circle of Fine Arts of Caracas, he decided to settle in La Guaira in his famous "Castillete" and spend the rest of his days with his beloved Juanita. The fact is that Reverón suffered a great part of his life from psychotic and depressive episodes, for which he was nicknamed "the madman" (somewhat denigrating) and after some years, he was confined in a mental sanatorium where he would spend his last days.</div></P>
><P><div class="text-justify">Teniendo en cuenta la historia de Reverón quise realizar un retrato lo más fiel posible a su persona. La idea original era pintar solo con tonos claros de azul para hacer referencia a una de sus etapas pictóricas, su periodo azul. Pero opté por trabajar con tonos ocres haciendo referencia a su etapa pictórica dónde trabajo con el sepia y además, su carácter aguerrido, tenaz y profundamente adherido a la naturaleza me motivó a hacerlo de esa manera. Elegí de referencia una fotografía que se le había tomado a él y empecé con ello. El retrato lo realice en la aplicación donde hago todos mis Pixel Art (Pixel Studio), con una dimensión de 2900x4000 píxeles (un tamaño ideal para una impresión en físico de 24x35 centímetros). En general, es un retrato del artista en su apreciado hogar y la playa que tantas veces contempló. Lo titulé 'Contraste' por el uso de tonos muy oscuros y de tonos claros que le dieron equilibrio a la obra.</div></P>
><P><div class="text-justify">La semana llegó y pude entregar mis trabajos con antelación para el montaje de las obras. Se me olvidó comentarles que además del retrato, también expusimos cinco piezas más con diferentes motivos. El día del evento llegó y pude encontrarme con varias amistades que asistieron al lugar. En total fuimos unos ocho pintores, 2 agrupaciones de teatro, 2 agrupaciones de música y una solista. Les dejo algunas imágenes para que puedan apreciar el trabajo de los demás artistas. Debo decir que estaba muy feliz a pesar de los contratiempos (el clima, el tiempo e incidentes). Llevé a mi madre y por supuesto, también estaba allí mi esposo. Pasamos un domingo muy emotivo entre risas y llanto por el homenaje a un artista tan genuino cómo lo fue Reverón. Y esta que es mi segunda exposición, la sentí muy liberadora porque como he dicho antes, no me gusta catalogarme cómo artista porque siento que aún debo trabajar mucho más pero, me di cuenta que debo apreciar más mi trabajo.</div></P>
><P><div class="text-justify">Finalmente amigos míos, esta ha sido mi experiencia en la exposición de arte dedicada a Reverón. <P><div class="text-justify">Taking into account Reverón's history, I wanted to make a portrait as faithful as possible to his person. The original idea was to paint only with light shades of blue to make reference to one of his pictorial stages, his blue period. But I chose to work with ocher tones, making reference to his pictorial stage where he worked with sepia and also, his tough, tenacious and deeply attached to nature character motivated me to do it that way. I chose as a reference a photograph that had been taken of him and I started with it. I made the portrait in the application where I do all my Pixel Art (Pixel Studio), with a dimension of 2900x4000 pixels (an ideal size for a physical print of 24x35 centimeters). Overall, it is a portrait of the artist in his cherished home and the beach he so often contemplated. I titled it 'Contrast' because of the use of very dark tones and light tones that gave balance to the work.</div></P>
<P><div class="text-justify">The week arrived and I was able to deliver my work in advance for the mounting of the artwork. I forgot to tell you that in addition to the portrait, we also exhibited five more pieces with different motifs. The day of the event arrived and I was able to meet with several friends who attended the place. In total we were about eight painters, 2 theater groups, 2 music groups and a soloist. I leave you some pictures so you can appreciate the work of the other artists. I must say that I was very happy despite the setbacks (weather, time and incidents). I took my mother and of course, my husband was there too. We spent a very emotional Sunday between laughter and tears for the tribute to an artist as genuine as Reverón was. And this is my second exhibition, I felt it very liberating because as I said before, I do not like to label myself as an artist because I feel that I still have to work much more but I realized that I must appreciate my work more.</div></P>
