NEW LIFE TO FRAMES

Hello dear friends,
Recently a friend of mine gave me several frames that he didn't use anymore... nothing valuable or particularly beautiful, but I saw potential in them, and gave them a new life.
I sanded and coloured them all, and on some of them I went over a second time with glass paper. 

NUOVA VITA A CORNICI

Ciao cari amici,
Negli ultimi tempi un mio amico mi ha regalato diverse cornici che non utilizava piú... niente di valore o di particolarmente bello, ma ci ho visto un potenziale, e le ho dato una nuova vita.
Le ho scartavetrate e colorate tutte , e su alcune ho fatto un secondo passaggio con la carta a vetro.

On the last ones I gave them another coat of silver or gold colour, and re-sanded them.
The effect is a kind of patinated vintage, and I am very satisfied with it.

Sulle ultime ho dato un' altro strato di color argento o oro, e le ho rilevigate.
L' effetto é quello di una specie di vintage patinato, e ne sono molto soddisfatta.

I had used old frames also - fixing them up is sometimes a task when the corners are out of joint. I used to work in a gallery for a while, so a corner clamp is essential when that happens.
Other than that, I find buying raw wooden frames from Boesner and finishing them myself is not only a lot cheaper, but also a way to customize them to fit exactly the painting they are for.
