Late nights and a few frustrations about my affiliate marketing are getting to me. Do not want to move in the mornings - keep turning over. Had it in the day plan to go for an orchid walk - got a few hyacinth orchid locations to check on. Caught up on Friday accounting and updating weekly investing post.

Pushed myself to do one of the garden chores. The day's photos come from the garden. First up is a malva - the wind has broken the spike about one third from the top. Best get photos before it dies from the top down

First chore is to plant two gardenias bought the weekend we left the Hunter Valley house - just over two months ago. Two wins. I did the planting inside the 6 month nag zone. And I did not kill the plant by waiting so long.

The bromfelsias that were in those pots were planted out in gaps between our place and next door - this one in a walk through

This one in a gap in the hedge. Will see how they go. New soil and not constrained by a pot, they have a chance

Gazanias still growing strong. 

Tidied up moss patch in front lawn and got it watered. Not needed to do that for 3 years now. Water tanks are full - water just costs the price of pumping

Brown tones on this gazania. Managed to get all the steps in around the garden - no motivation to go walking after that. 

A lot of steps came from cooking two dinner meals. Bolognese sauce for tomorrow and Thai yellow chicken curry for tonight. I do the Thai recipe a bit differently to the books. Cube and brown seasoned chicken thighs. They add the chicken in later - I want it cooked through

Stir fry onions (first) then capsicum and garlic. Stir through a few tablespoons of yellow curry paste

Then add coconut milk and bring to the boil for a minute or two (half a can of coconut milk is enough for 3 chicken thighs).

Add in a little green veges (beans and spring onions) and then the browned chicken. A splash of ketjap manis adds a little sweetness and a little colour.

Serve with rice. Verdict - a bit spicy - two tablespoons of yellow curry paste next time - not three.

Got this notification from Fitbit the day before - Fitbit measures sleep. I fell asleep on the couch before bedtime. The data suggest atrial fibrillation going on. That might explain some of the ride troubles I have been having over the last 3 years (going back before Covid). It adds to the state of feeling depressed. I love riding my bike and will be hacked off if I have to give it away. I hate it when I struggle to finish a short ride that has some intensity in it
