This was really cool to read. Apart from the fact that you described exactly the fleeting, hazy way lost memory feels like, your pics reminded me of some fungal growth. Actually I was waiting for the revelation that whatever you were supposed to remember had started to get moldy... (It happens to me on occasion, as I practice a lot of fermentation.) This way it may be even better, keeping the mystery alive.
