I had a problem with my computer where it infrequently used to crash into the infamous _blue screen of death_ with a memory management error. I tried all kinds of things like fixing corrupted files etc, all stuff that was in [this article](https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/windows-stop-code-memory-management-bsod/). Except for the "last resort" (resetting windows).

The resetting option in Windows is annoying though, because doing it I'd have to reinstall every program again, which would be rather annoying. But digging a bit more, I found a way to reinstall Windows 10 without losing any programs already installed or losing files: it's literally just downloading [this media creation tool](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10) from Windows' site and executing the program. 

While you install you just make sure you have the option of keeping all the files and programs selected.

That's it. Then you just wait for it to install.

I did this about a week ago and I haven't had any blue screen error thus far, so I'm just throwing this info out here if anyone else has had similar problems, might be helpful for someone.

If I'm lucky, the problem was just in the software itself, and is now fixed, instead of having to go through and diagnose all the hardware (though I did run the RAM diagnostic tool in Windows, but found no abnormalities).
