<div class="text-justify"> <center><strong><i>Hello friends!</i></strong></center> Since the beginning of time, man has been fascinated by meteorological phenomena. It is something that is embedded in his DNA. Curiosity and amazement are the main reasons for staying hours contemplating these events that nature gives us. Today I want to share with you a night of thunderstorms that illuminated the sky as if it were violent dawn and then gave way to complete darkness. >Desde el inicio de los tiempos el hombre ha sentido fascinación por los fenómenos meteorológicos. Es algo que está inserto en su ADN. La curiosidad y el asombro son los principales razones para permanecer horas contemplando estos eventos que la naturaleza nos regala. <br> Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una noche de tormenta eléctrica que iluminó el cielo como si se tratara de un amanecer violento para luego dar paso a una completa oscuridad.   Last night I was awakened by a loud noise. I was so asleep that I couldn't identify what it was. When I woke up, I saw white flashes coming through my window. I thought it was the typical lightning and thunder of rain, but it was a "dry storm". That is to say, there were electrical discharges but no rain precipitation. The curious thing about this phenomenon was that the sky was cloudy and did not allow me to see the typical discharge in the form of lines. However, the light show was similar to fireworks. >Anoche me despertó un ruido fuerte. Estaba tan dormida que no atinaba a identificar de qué se trataba. Al despertarme ví como unos destellos blancos entreban por mi ventana. Pensé que eran los típicos rayos y truenos de lluvia pero se trataba de una "tormenta seca", es decir habían descargas eléctricas pero no ocuurió la precipitación de lluvia. <br> Lo curioso de este fenómeno fue que el cielo estaba nublado y no me permitió ver la típica descarga en forma de líneas, sin embargo el espéctaculo de luces fue similar a los fuegos artificiales.  This thunderstorm lasted only an hour, but despite I was a bit sleepy, I grabbed my cell phone camera and tried to catch a few shots to share. >Esta tormnenta eléctrica duró solo una hora pero a pesar de yo estar al principio medio adormitada, agarré la cámara de mi celuar y traté de cazar algunas tomas para compartir.  The wind speed was intense, so I couldn't open my balcony window, so you will notice that the photos show the bars of the railings. But even so, my cell phone camera managed to capture some of the flashes in the sky. The wonderful thing was to be able to see some spaces of the sky dark, others full of incandescent light, and on the horizon the big mountain that is in front of my house achieving a magical composition. >La velocidad del viento era intensa por tanto no pude abrir la ventana de mi balcón por eso observarás que las fotos muestran los barrotes de las rejas. Pero aún así, la cámara de mi celular logró captar algunos de los destellos en el cielo. Lo maravilloso fue poder ver algunos espacios del cielo oscuros, otros llenos de una luz incandescente y en el horizonte la gran montaña que está enfrente de mi casa logarndo una composición mágica.    Trying to capture these flashes with a cell phone is not so easy, as you need precision between the shutter and the timer. This can program it into the devices, but it all happened so fast that I just tried to portray these discharges empirically. >Tratar de captar estos destellos con un celular no es tan fácil, ya que requieres precisión entre el obturador y el temporizador. Esto se puede programar en los dispositivos pero todo ocurrió tan rápido que solo traté de retratar estas descargas de forma empírica.   Although some images were a little blurry, I can confess that I enjoyed this moment with nature intensely. At that moment we were the night, the storm, and me! >Aunque algunas imágenes quedaron un poco difusas les puedo confesar que disfruté este momento con la naturaleza de forma intensa. En ese momento éramos la noche, la tormenta y yo!  In these moments of stupefaction, I could only wonder how our early ancestors would have felt when these storms manifested themselves in front of them, lacking any remote scientific idea of this type of event. >En estos instantes de estupecfacción no hacía más que preguntarme cómo se habrían sentido nuestros primeros ancestros cuando se manifestaban estas tormentas frente a ellos careciendo de alguna remota idea científica de este tipo de sucesos.   It was at that moment that I understood the possible ancestral feeling that remains in us in front of the light under the night, a mixture of awe, fear, and communion between man and nature, a nature of sometimes fierce manifestation. >En ese momento fue cuando comprendí el posible sentimiento ancestral que aún permanece en nosotros frente a la luz bajo la noche, una mezcla entre asombro, temor y comunión entre el hombre y la naturaleza, una naturaleza de manifestación a veces fiera.  And just as the popular adage says "after the storm comes the calm", when this light show ended, I felt happiness and peace for having been a front-row spectator of this storm. I felt privileged to have lived this moment consciously and fully. >Y tal cual como reza el adagio popular "después de la tormenta llega la calma", cuando este espectáculo de luces finalizó, sentí felicidad y paz por haber sido expectador en primera fila de esta tormenta. Hi @ph1102, I must confess that I am very afraid of the roar of thunder, but the light show in the darkness of the night is so fascinating that I plucked up the courage. It is the first time I try to hunt through lightning photographs, so I thank you for your assessment...it was quite an adventure!
