Today I woke up to the news that @dan (a.k.a @dantheman) has [decided to resign from Steemit Inc]( https://steemit.com/steem/@dan/today-i-submitted-my-resignation-to-steemit-inc). I do not know the reasons for @dan to have taken his decision, but I can´t say I am surprised, I believe @dan is a genius of his own kind, and minds like his need to be feed with constant challenges.

@Dan has created something great and most importantly something functional (unlike others), many people have been impacted by his work and businesses have been built on his platforms. He will move on and surprise us with something great in a couple of months, of that I am sure. 

I believe @dan is insatisfied with the current state of Steemit, from what I have seen he is a perfectionist and Steemit is far from perfect. But @dan you have to understand that Steemit will never be perfect, because it is built from people that reflect on our current society, which is of course far from perfection. We could tweak and change Steemit all we want, there will always be someone trying to take advantage of the system, but you should be damm proud of yourself for what you accomplished here.

I am sure, a lot of people will now feel abandoned, especially those who already saw you leave Bitshares. But they will later come to understand (as I have), that a free mind like yours needs its time and space to think and constantly improve himself. 

I am not sure if you will get the chance to read this letter, or ever post again on Steemit, but whatever you do I wish you the best, I will for sure follow you on your future endeavors.
