I hope you are all well. I am so happy to come and show you my first illustration, of the scariest month of the year. I love this month. because there is nothing better than making the terror of Halloween look cute and cuddly. Today I show you a little witch making pumpkins in a dark forest with her faithful kitty. El día de hoy les muestro una pequeña bruja haciendo calabazas en un oscuro bosque acompañada de su gatito fiel . Te cuento como fue hacerla y algunos detalles mas. Vamos allá. <center></center> ### ⚪ Process/ Proceso |.jpg)|| | ---------- | ---------- | For the main idea of the sketch; It occurred to me to make a little young witch casting spells with a book, but then I don't know why the idea changed and I made her sitting in the forest cutting pumpkins with her kitten and surrounded by ghosts. It caught my attention and I really liked this idea. Transmitting innocence and mischief at the same time. >Para la idea principal del boceto; Se me ocurrió hacer una pequeña bruja joven haciendo hechizos con un libro, Pero luego no se porque la idea fue cambiando y la hice sentada en el bosque cortando calabazas junto a su gatito y rodeada de fantasmas. First I did all the layers in grayscale. For two reasons; I wanted to make a monochrome, I wanted it to have a lot of orange and wine tones and some olive green. I really liked that palette. And I thought that to use it better, I could do the base in grays. I don't usually do that, but I think it worked very well for me. >En la etapa de color. Primero hice todas las capas en escala de grises. Por dos razones; Quería hacer una monocromía, quería que tuviese muchos tonos naranjas y vinos y algo de verde oliva. Me gusto mucho esa paleta. Y creí que para emplearla mejor, podía hacer la base en grises. Por lo general es algo que no hago pero considero que me ha funcionado muy bien. <center></center> |.jpg)|.jpg)| | ---------- | ---------- | One of the most difficult things, although I wouldn't say it was a major problem, was the color palette. As I said I wanted to use orange mustard tones and very monochromatic. I had never done this before, or at least not consciously. I didn't want the colors to mix and end up being difficult to read the illustration, or rather; I didn't want it to look saturated with colors. I used the chromatic wheel and Halloween color palettes to achieve this. >Una de las cosas mas difíciles, aunque no diría que representó mayor problema; fue la paleta de color. Como ya dije quería usar tonos mostaza naranja y muy monocromos. Nunca había hecho esto, o al menos no conscientemente. No quería que los colores se mesclaran y que terminara siendo difícil leer la ilustración, o mejor dicho; que se viera saturada de colores. Me ayude mucho de la rueda cromática y de paletas de color de Halloween para poder lograrlo. <center></center> |.jpg)|.jpg)| | ---------- | ---------- | ||| | ---------- | ---------- | For the background I placed a forest in mustard tones since it is a color that goes very well with all the colors of the character, I added trees and ghosts floating looking at the little witch. I feel that they give much more magic to the drawing. This was a detail that I almost forgot because in the sketch I didn't do them but I had in mind that I wanted to do them. The problem was that I didn't know how XD. In the end I remembered to make them, what did you think? I loved it. This is the first of several that I will make in this fantastic month. >Para el fondo coloque un bosque en tonos mostazas ya que es un color que va muy bien con todos los colores del personaje, agregue arboles y fantasmas flotando mirando a la brujita. siento que le hacen dar mucha mas magia al dibujo. Este era un detalle que por poco me olvido pues en el boceto no los hice pero tenia presente que los quería hacer. El problema era que no sabia como XD. Al final recordé hacerlos por suerte. ¿Qué te pareció ? a mi me ha encantado.
