First of all, a tag is what it is, a tag. The posts using such tag needs to be read through some user interface which is not tailored to the question/answer service. Secondly, Reverio provides a dedicated user interface for the question/answer service. Sure, you may think, why do we need a tailored interface? Well, when tunnelling a specific type of engagement into its user interface, the uptake of such a service will be better since the UI can be optimised for the service itself. Not that I see too many difference yet with Reverio to all the know UIs to the HIVE chain, but that aside :) I must say because we have Reverio, I'm actually using the service. If we would've had this in tag format, I likely wouldn't use the service. Basically I would forget about the service while I keep Reverio opened in one of my browser tabs ;) Note the search in Reverio. This one searches in the Q&A posts only making the user experience for search much better/easier eg using Hivesearcher, since the latter is a general-purpose search engine for all HIVE blog posts and comments.

I'm not sure what the benefit would be of usint one over the other, but couldn't you used reverio and add the #question tag to get the best of both?

With Reverio all kind of questions can be grouped to themes. People can check if their question might be already asked by someone else (and answered). Also people knowledgable in a topic can provide information and get incentivized for that if it was useful. By this over time a database of knowledge about various topics can emerge. A huge decentralized FAQ without someone who needs to create it.
