<liketuimages> <center>  _It‘s cold in Mexico._     </center> </liketuimages> My girlfriend and I should actually be asleep by now. But neither of us is really tired, although we should be. My girlfriend spontaneously asked, “Fancy playing Mario Odyssey?” Yeah - why not. We haven’t taken out the Switch for ages. It was so dead that we had to wait for it to turn on. I guess it's been in the drawer for six months. I wonder why? It’s actually a great console with a lot of exclusive titles. I like watching games and having the freedom to do something else at the same time. The days when I had to play the game myself are over for me. It still feels like I'm part of it in my head. I used to watch games on Twitch for a while, but it never really caught my interest as a viewer. However, watching my girlfriend play is really fun. For example, she’s currently complaining about it being cold in Mexico in the game. “It's supposed to be warm in Mexico - now I'm getting cold just watching this.” I also notice that my girlfriend is way more into Mario than I am. “Oh, that's from Mario 64” - fascinating, as I always thought I was the gamer. She plays the game quite differently from how I would. She collects every coin she sees: “I can't help it.” On the other hand, I would just run through to progress in the story. We’ve decided to do this more often. We'll take turns playing, but each with a game that the current player enjoys. Who knows, maybe my girlfriend will start liking Assassin’s Creed soon. BTW one of our cats keeps her warm now 😂 --- Eigentlich sollten meine Freundin und ich bereits schlafen. Wir sind beide aber nicht wirklich müde, obwohl wir es sein sollten. Meine Freundin meinte spontan: „Bock auf Mario Odyssey?“ Ja - warum eigentlich nicht. Die Switch hatten wir schon ewig nicht mehr draußen. Sie war sogar so leer, dass wir erstmal warten mussten, bis sie angegangen ist. Nach Schätzung lag sie sechs Monate in der Schublade. Ich frage mich gerade, warum eigentlich? Eigentlich ist das eine super Konsole mit vielen Exklusivtiteln. Ich mag es, bei Spielen zuzusehen und nebenher die Freiheit zu haben, etwas anderes zu machen. Die Zeiten, in denen ich das Spiel selbst spielen musste, sind für mich vorbei. Es fühlt sich in meinem Kopf trotzdem so an, als wäre ich dabei gewesen. Eine Zeit lang habe ich das auch über Twitch gemacht, was mich als Zuschauer allerdings nie so richtig begeistert hat. Meiner Freundin beim Spielen zuzusehen, ist allerdings sehr lustig. Sie regt sich beispielsweise gerade darüber auf, dass es in Mexiko im Spiel kalt ist. „Es soll doch warm sein in Mexiko - jetzt wird mir auch kalt, wenn ich das hier sehe.“ Zudem merke ich, dass meine Freundin viel tiefer in der Mario-Materie steckt als ich. „Oh, das ist von Mario 64“ - faszinierend, dabei habe ich immer gedacht, ich bin der Gamer. Sie spielt das Spiel aber auch ganz anders als ich es tun würde. Sie sammelt jede Münze ein, die sie sieht: „Ich kann nicht anders.“ Ich dagegen würde einfach durchrennen, um in der Story weiterzukommen. Wir haben uns jetzt vorgenommen, das Ganze öfter zu machen. Wir wechseln uns ab beim Spielen, aber jeweils mit einem Spiel, das dem jeweiligen Spieler gefällt. Wer weiß, vielleicht mag meine Freundin ja bald Assassin’s Creed. P.S.
