Today I spoke about you, after careful thought,
And I did so as a tale to one who asked curiously:
‘For what reason and reason always in solitude do we see you?’
He also inquired with interest, ‘How is your heart?’
I mentioned to him that there is someone I sometimes think of;
Because I need that special person in my life,
Who heals my wounds and comforts my soul,
And an indescribable emotion came over me.
For for some time now, I've been spending my whole nights
Longing for someone to love me and whom I can love;
Bringing into my existence the good that my being needs,
And allowing me by his side, to grow old and enjoy.
I told him that it's you, that someone I've waited so long for;
That I meditated a lot before opening myself to love,
Because in me dwelt the fear of bitter experiences;
Some of them mine, others that others once told me about.
