###### <center>**TARSA**</center> <center><sub>Splinterlands Art Contest Week 226</sub></center>

Hello, everyone! I am very excited to show you another entry for the Splinterlands Art Contest. Joining this contest has been a weekly undertaking for me. I like the thought of me reimagining the Splinterlands characters and then giving them my personal artistic touch. The contest also challenges me to at least produce a decent artwork in a week! 

Today, I give you Tarsa! Judging from the original card, her power is fire. And since fire is such a strong element, I want to make my own version of Tarsa in a state before her rage or before being furious. Her hair is still braided but it still can be identified as a fiery hair. I also made her look calm, or maybe she is just studying her opponent, analyzing the skills, and thinking of her best strategy to win the combat.

Well, that should always be our gameplay in life. We have to delay our actions (especially rage) and think wisely to win our battles. But let us be reminded that we should choose our battles always!

For this week, I decide not to do a sketch. I just used the drawing grids properly to be able to get the proportions well. The two references are shown below. On the first photo, I started to form the whole profile of the subject and proceeded to drawing the parts of the face such as the eyes, eye brows, nose, and lips.

Then, I added a layer to put these parts on one layer because I found out that if it is merged together with the skin-face layer, it would look a mess and blending will be more difficult to do. In the left photo, I have already painted the brows, and eyes with lashes already. The nose and lips as well as some shadows were done on the right photo.

I could not determine the ears of the original character, so I just made it very long so that she would look like a fairy - a fiery fairy. Then I used the dropper tool of procreate to pick the color of the hair of Tarsa and use them on my painting.

I continued painting the hair. I also started making the highlights of the hair. I really find painting the hair very difficult, but after watching so many videos on tiktok, youtube, and even looking at the processes of other artists here on Hive, I think I got some pretty good strategies. But, I still have so many things to improve in this area.

Here, I was still not done with the hair. I added darker colors to emphasize depth and volume of the hair. Then, when I was satisfied, I proceeded to adding her clothes. I used the lasso tool here to easily paint the jumper of my version of Tarsa.

If you look closely, I have made her bust appear bigger. I think that was easy to do, I was just drawing a bra. Viola, the breasts looked larger already. Then, I added a texture element on her clothes to not make it look boring. I also added a background using the colors of the fire.

Then, I added shadows and highlights on the dress to make it look realistic. Lastly, I added the hair strands which makes my artwork look even better. Well, that is how I see it.

#####  <center>My Workspace in Procreate</center>

I just thought of doing a screenshot so that I can show you how my workspace looks like. As you can see there are a lot of layers I made. You can see there Layer numbers, I did not rename them so that you can see what part I made first and what followed after it. You can also see that they are somehow disarranged so that they would look good if layers are arranged perfectly. 


Also, I added a Tikcode so you can see the timelapse video in creating this artwork although the link was already posted above below the words "The Process".
