Single & Three Phase Tap Lines in Rural Distribution System – from the viewpoint of loss minimization ⚡️ Final Part
### Ever wondered how this electricity is delivered to ur home..?   👀
How this thing is generated and then transmitted from miles to ur fingertips..? Ever thought of what difference it makes when using three phase line instead of single phase connections..???? 
### Well, for me I was kind of fascinated with all these electrical technology and always wanted to find out What happens if we don’t do things the way we are doing today..? What change it may bring to the entire system..? 🧐 
### My research on “Rural Distribution System” was aiming to change the distribution system a little bit and analyze the results of the change. 
I’ve already discussed about the Single and Three phase system basics in [Part #1](https://steemit.com/science/@christinaa/single-and-three-phase-tap-lines-in-rural-distribution-system-from-the-viewpoint-of-loss-minimization-part-1)  and shown the calculation for Single phase system in [Part #2](https://steemit.com/science/@christinaa/single-and-three-phase-tap-lines-in-rural-distribution-system-from-the-viewpoint-of-loss-minimization-part-2) of this series post. Let’s see what happens if the same Distribution System is constructed using ***Three Phase connections*** today.

### Considering the same 10 Km of backbone line we used to simulate the Single Phase System. 
Total load flowing through the phases was (110+80+74) = 264A. So, the average load per phase is 88A. If all the taps are three phase, then we can get balance system with per phase current is equal and the value is 88A.
### For the first, we consider the tap which was connected in R-phase in the single phase tapping. 
🔸 The load was 33A. If the tap was constructed in three phase, we can get balanced load of 11 Amps per phase. 
🔸 With the same consideration, second tap which is 4 Km apart from the starting point, carries 12A per phase.
🔸 Thirdly, the tap is 5 km apart from starting point and carries balanced load of 11A per phase.
🔸 Fourth tap which is 8 Km apart from starting point, carries balanced load of 11A per phase.
🔸 For fifth and sixth tap which are apart 9 Km & 10 km from the starting point and carries balanced load of 22A & 14A per phase. 
#### The connection and currents are shown in Fig. 1. given next.

### Sample loss calculation for Section-1, Tap-1 is given below,

#### Analyzing the detailed cost for both Single and Three phase connection using Microsoft Excel Solver, it is clear that the cost for three phase line with single phase tap is higher than that of all three phase tap. So the three phase tap is more efficient in terms of expense for RDS.
### I was trying to focus on the cost analysis of Rural Distribution System (RDS) using different tap lines. 
The objective of my work was to verify the effectiveness of three phase tap lines over the single phase. Detailed calculation for both single and three phase tap lines are presented. From my research work, it is clear that three phase tap lines provides more effective solution in terms of expense. Moreover, ***Three Phase*** lines have capability to connect more rural areas with same amount of expense comparing to Single Phase distribution system.
