I used to detest cowards, but now realize that some people are "wired" as you say to run and hide.  It is necessary to prevent extinction.  I know that I really didn't have the courage to enlist in the army knowing I would probably go to Vietnam, but when I was drafted I did not resist or whine and complain.  I went there in 1969 and did the best I could.  Today I look back on the experience and believe that fighting for the freedom of other people was the most noble and selfless thing I have done in my life...so far.

it's a lot easier to shoot a target that running away from you than it is to shoot one that comeing AT you...
especially if the one coming at you has a gun too..or a chair leg (club) or a piece of broken glass or a knife.....and buddies.

it kinda tends to throw your aim off.

in Isreal (according to a website I saw) they teach the kids to hide in ambush then fight back...they have very damn few school shooter that survive.

and very few dead kids..

about that viet nam thing?
been there done that (thailand actually..bomber base)

The Israelis do everything about protecting themselves better than anybody else.  They were first disarmed, then herded into ghettos, then shipped by rail cars to be slaughtered before and during WWII.  They are not going to let it happen again.  I hope that we in the USA don't need a holocaust to prove the lunacy of disarming the populace.
