It does not cost anything to **resteem** a blog post that you truly enjoy and reckon deserves more traction. The author also does not get directly paid anything from you resteeming their post. 

However, there's a thing called curation rewards which are the rewards that curators (people who upvote another person's post) can potentially earn in steem dollars and steem power and it can potentially be up to 25% of the total earnings of that post. 

By resteeming a post, it is at no cost to you, whether it be steem dollars, voting power, whatever. It's free. However, if you've upvoted the post and the content is great, by resteeming the post and letting more people interact, comment, upvote, etc you could potentially earn more curation rewards, because the more money the post makes, the more money the author (75%) and curators (25%) get.
