Well, this week's topic is very interesting. It has always been my wish to be given an audience to talk to young girls about abortion because the high rate of abortion among our young girls is alarming.

Most times, if I see young girls going for abortion, I don’t really blame them because most parents fail to teach their children sex education. As a parent, you should teach your child the functions of their bodies. Tell me places where nobody should touch their bodies.

 

 

As parents, we should be free with our children so that they can easily relate to us. Most parents don’t have time for their kids; they are always busy. As a parent, during your child's adolescence stage, you should monitor, educate, and advise her.

 

Due to this topic I was researching, I learned that there are some countries that have legalised abortion and that a woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body.

For me, I am against abortion. I see abortion as murder. If there is something I am afraid of in this life, it is abortion. I am from a religious family. There is this fear my mom put inside me, and that fear has really helped me.

 

I understand that we live in a civilised world where every youth wants to have sex. Even if you want to have sex, why not make use of protection since you are not ready to make babies?

 

 

For me, the only reason a woman should abort a baby is for basic health issues or rape. Apart from these two reasons, if you are aborting a baby, you are committing a sin and shedding the blood of an innocent baby.

 

Early this year, I was in a cyber cafe. It happened that the place was full of people who came to register for Jamb. They were having a discussion. I was so shocked by what this kid was barging about—how many abortions they have done in kids of 20 years. Seriously, I don’t know when tears came out of my eyes because this kid doesn’t know what they are doing. They have turned their womb into a burial ground. I have to walk up to these kids and ask them one question: This guy that you are aborting these babies for, will he marry you in the future? Think about what you are doing with your life so that you will not regret it in the future. The two girls were so cold, and they started shedding tears. I collected their numbers.

After some days, I called these kids, and they regretted their actions. I got to find out that their parents didn’t teach them what they should have; they were brainwashed by their so-called boyfriend.

 

One day, take your time and go to the hospital. You will see young girls coming in to have abortions. I have this friend who I nearly lost. It was during my university days. I came back from lectures. I saw my friend bleeding. I asked her what happened. She lied to me at this point in her monthly period. I said okay and left for church. Coming back in the evening, the bleeding was really getting out of hand. At this point, I told her that if you didn’t tell me the truth, I would leave you to die. At that point, she opened up to me, and I rushed her to the hospital.

 

 

Seriously, our young girls are dying because they were not informed. Looking at those kids that day, they see nothing wrong with what they are doing, see abortion as fun and nothing big, and forget that they are risking their lives.

 

I have this uncle who has been married for 20 years without kids. The wife knows fully well that she is the cause of their childlessness, but she never opens up to my uncle. It happens that she has no womb the very day my uncle finds out that was the end of the marriage.

I have this male friend who told me before he would marry any woman that she would most likely be pregnant. At first, I saw him as someone who didn’t have sense, but when I asked him his reason, he explained to me that most of my gender doesn’t have a womb again.

 

 

There are many risks to abortion. You may not see it then, but in time, you will regret your actions.

If you are having an abortion due to your health, that is the only way your life can be saved. There is no problem with that.

Children are a gift from God. If your parents have killed you, will you be alive today? Why kill an innocent baby?

Conclusion: So countries legally always have the right to abortion. For me, if the abortion is not on a health issue, it is not right to encourage young girls to do abortion. Abortion is very risky; it can lead to loss of life and damage in the future.

 

 

Parents always make time to educate their kids. They need to know there is nothing wrong with giving your child sex education, but if you fail, you as a parent may regret it in the future. I am against abortion.
