At home we have started to enjoy Christmas activities as we have to continue with my daughter's learning at home while she is recovering from an allergy process.

So, attending to her natural sciences and plastic arts project, we have linked both tasks to create a salt dough to model Christmas figures that this year will decorate our artificial fir tree.

 >En casa hemos comenzado a disfrutar de las actividades navideñas ya que nos toca continuar con los aprendizajes de mi hija en casa mientras se recupera de un proceso de alergia.

 >Así que atendiendo a su proyecto de ciencias naturales y artes plásticas hemos enlazado ambas tareas para crear una masa de sal para modelar figuras navideñas que este año adornarán nuestro abeto artificial.

This salt dough is one of my favorites for its sensory benefits as well as being based on natural, non-toxic ingredients that allow children to work freely without risk or danger.

This dough is soft, manageable and is made with all-purpose wheat flour, salt and water, ingredients that we always have at home and that by mixing them all together we can obtain a uniform dough that does not stick to children's fingers.

Kneading is a complete exercise and one that my daughter enjoys very much. I love creating sensorial doughs with my little one, especially seeing the expression on her face when she feels the mixture sticking between her fingers.

 I like her to feel confident to create and enjoy her creations so once the dough was uniform my daughter molded the Christmas figures this time without using molds which allowed her to create the figures according to what came to her mind and for me this is great because the hands are a great tool that we should use.


  >Me gusta que se sienta segura de crear y disfrutar de sus creaciones así que una vez uniforme la masa mi hija moldeo las figuras navideñas esta vez sin utilizar moldes lo que le permitió crear las figuras según lo que se le fue ocurriendo y para mí esto es genial porque las manos son una gran herramienta que debemos utilizar.

Once ready we placed them on a tray and took them to the oven for about 10 minutes although the figures can be left in the open air to dry, my daughter was very impatient as we plan to decorate our Christmas tree tomorrow.

 >Una vez listas las colocamos en una bandeja y las lleve al horno por unos 10 minutos aunque las figuras se pueden dejar al aire libre para secar, mi hija estaba muy impaciente ya que pensamos adornar mañana nuestro árbol de navidad.

Already cold my little girl began to paint each piece applying each color chosen to personalize each of her ornaments in fact she chose red and white as she expressed to me that for her those are the authentic colors of Christmas 😁. 

 >Frías mi niña comenzó a pintar cada pieza aplicando cada color elegido para personalizar cada uno de sus adornos de hecho escogió el rojo y blanco ya que me expreso que para ella eso son los colores auténticos de la navidad 😁

As we are making ornaments to hang my little girl used a pencil to make the hole to pass a rope and at the end we can hang on the tree.

This is our first edition of Christmas ornaments with salt dough and I say first because for sure next year will be our second edition because this is an activity that we have loved! We spent an afternoon kneading, molding and painting these beautiful figures.

 >Cómo estamos realizando adornos para colgar mi niña utilizo un lápiz para realizar el agujero para pasar una cuerda y que al final podamos guindar en el árbol.

 >Esta es nuestra primera edición de adornos navideños con masa de sal y digo primera porque de seguro el año próximo saldrá nuestra segunda edición ya que está es una actividad que nos ha encantado! Pasamos una tarde amasando, moldeando y pintando estás hermosas figuras.

Our ornaments were very beautiful and my daughter was very excited to hang each one of them on our fir tree tomorrow.
