Before getting deeper into building the race car, establish first the concepts of force, movement, inertia, acceleration, and other related key concepts. This is a Grade 4 class and your students may not have a deeper understanding about Physics so make sure you find simple examples to discuss these concepts. The principles of AERODYNAMICS is one best way to make this happen. Provide basic aerodynamic principles and discuss briefly with the students. Race cars should not only be fast but it should also be durable and strong as it travels from one point to the other. Racing cars oftentimes bump into each other and ensuring that it is strong and resilient will give a better chance of winning the race. <h2>MATH</h2> Measuring how fast a car can travel from start to finish is one good way to apply mathematical and scientific formulas in this lesson. Without the need to compete with each other, a student can measure how fast his robot car is. <h1>Vocabulary</h1> Terms to Know. Have students learn the following terms, find the definitions, using them in a sentence, determining the antonym of the terms, and other ways that the students will get to use the words. Real-world application is preferred. Add more words if necessary, according to your own students' needs. <b><i>aerodynamics, motion, thrill, speed, <<< add your vocabulary words here >>> </i></b> <h1>Values Education</h1> The world has evolved multiple times faster in the last 50 years and this is attributed by technology and science research and development. Speed has been the driving force of technological advancement. The faster we process things, the more productive we become. In transportation, speed is the key. The shortest time we move from one point to another the greater the things we accomplish and more. But speed has to be controlled and harnessed to provide benefits to people, not harm them. The adage “the speed that thrills, is the speed that kills” is true especially in motor vehicles where people lost their car accidents whether passenger/driver or by-stander.
