My adolescence was influenced by the rock / metal musical genre, I speak of the 90s, and I met many great musicians, with strong personalities and incredible skills. When I started playing the guitar, my reference points were them, the great rock stars who were often also the great pilots of rock bands, sometimes even more than singers.

I remember the hours I spent practicing on scales and chords, on techniques to gain speed. I dreamed of solos like Steve Vai and John Petrucci so to speak and often practiced their music, clearly at slow speed 😜

Having reference points when starting a new adventure is very important because it gives you energy even when the exercises are boring! And who has followed guitar lessons well how slow are the solfeggi or the first exercises to break the fingers a little. On the fretboard of the guitar there are chords that almost split the bones of the hands, with continuous cramps and tendinitis.

There are actually some stretching exercises that every good guitarist and pro does. As in sport, also in music it is essential to warm up the muscles of the fingers, hands, arms and shoulders. But then the benefits are many and it prevents annoying muscle problems.

Music is passion but also commitment! And in the beginning it really takes a lot. But in the end, when you start playing the songs of your favorite bands, you feel like David Gilmour during the Comfortably Numb solo!
