A long week of work was finally over, and I felt like getting out of the house for a walk with my wife and son. The weather threatens rain but until water falls from the sky, we walk serenely. We reached the port, there are very few people but a great blue light coming from the square literally captured us, especially my son, who immediately started running towards that light source.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a luminous source of light which actually projected a series of paper boats in continuous movement onto the facade of the historic building, a very pleasant scene, hypnotic especially for my son who watched this continuous movement of boats, without ever looking away.

But that wasn't the only screening. At the center of the large square stands a turret from which at least 4 large projectors branch off and transmit various plays of light on the facades of the buildings located nearby. It is a very suggestive show, accompanied by soft music, very similar to those soundtracks that fill the rooms of wellness centres.

There aren't many people in the streets, this is a great advantage to fully enjoy the play of light that characterizes the square. It's actually a show in preparation that will be presented over the weekend, so we're enjoying a kind of preview. The light show joins the many Christmas light installations that are now sprouting like mushrooms.

In the background is the port, it too is changing with all the colored lights that the traders are setting up. Christmas is truly wonderful, these lights are truly a beacon in the dark of a period that is certainly not easy for everyone. My thoughts certainly go to the people who are suffering because of the war, instead of enjoying the holidays and spending more time with their families.

My hope, perhaps a dream, is that this light will illuminate the minds of those who think they are showing their strength with weapons and violence. We in this world are just passing through. Power, money, no longer make any sense where perhaps we will go when our life ends. Better to enjoy all we can now, without any suffering for ourselves and for others. Who knows if Santa will be able to satisfy my Christmas present.

Finalmente è terminata una lunga settimana di lavoro, e avevo voglia di uscire di casa per una passeggiata con mia moglie e mio figlio. Il tempo minaccia pioggia ma finché non cade acqua dal cielo, noi passeggiamo serenamente. Abbiamo raggiunto il porto, vi è davvero poca gente ma una gran luce blu, provenienti dalla piazza, ci ha letteralmente catturati, in particolar modo mio figlio, che subito ha iniziato a correre verso quella fonte di luce. 

Al nostro arrivo, siamo stati accolti da una fonte luminosa di luce che in realtà proiettava sulla facciata del palazzo storico una serie di barchette di carta in continuo movimento, una scena molto piacevole, ipnotica soprattutto per mio figlio che guardava questo movimento continuo di barche, senza mai distogliere lo sguardo.

Ma non era l'unica proiezione. Al centro della grande piazza sorge una torretta da cui dipartono almeno 4 grandi proiettori che trasmettono vari giochi di luci sulla facciate dei palazzi che si trovano lì vicino. È uno spettacolo davvero molto suggestivo, accompagnato da una musica soft, molto simile a quelle colonne sonore che riempiono le stanze dei centri benessere. 

Non vi è molta gente per le strade, questo è un grande vantaggio per godere appieno dei giochi di luce che caratterizzano la piazza. In realtà è una show in fase di preparazione che sarà presentato nel weekend, per cui noi stiamo godendo di una sorta di anteprima. Lo spettacolo di luci si accoda alle tante installazioni luminose natalizie che ormai spuntano come funghi. 

Sullo sfondo vi è il porto, anch'esso sta mutando con tutte le luci colorate che i commercianti stanno installando. È davvero meraviglioso il Natale, queste luci sono davvero un faro nel buio di un periodo non certo semplice per tutti. Il mio pensiero va certamente alla gente che sta soffrendo a causa della guerra, invece di godersi la festività e trascorrere più tempo con la propria famiglia.

La mia speranza, forse un sogno, è che questa luce illumini le menti di chi pensa di mostrare la propria forza con le armi e la violenza. Noi in questo mondo siamo solo di passaggio. Il potere, il denaro, non hanno più alcun senso laddove forse andremo quando la nostra vita terminerà. Meglio godersi tutto ciò che possiamo ora, senza alcuna sofferenza per noi e per gli altri. Chissà che Babbo Natale riesca a soddisfare il mio regalo di Natale.
